IIT Guwahati- A dream place to spend for the next 4 years.

Vicinity to my state, its culture, the beauty of thr college impressed me the most and most of all the river and natural scenery. I took this college mainly because of the branch i got selected to, and also the educational value it got. The profs are excellent and they teach you so great things about your course.

The course curriculum is a bit strict and to be honest at the end of the day, you need to do coding and tech stuffs to get hired during placement. There comes no company in the core sector.or very less to be honest but in the IT industry, lots of companies come.so just do coding and maintain your branch.

Placement scenarios are almost the same as any other famous IIT. In 2019, placement record was over 85% with nearly 180+ companies recruiting where as in 2020, it stands around 76% with 150+ companies visiting ( this is mainly due to covid honestly saying). All the top four circuital branches have high recruitment percentage and for the other branches , only coding and data science and analytics and business management roles will help you get placed. So start coding if you wanna get placed in a good company.

Fee is 100000 per sem for general students. And apart from that it is less for others with low family income. You can take financial loan at 0% interest from the bank of the college and can pay it later at the end lf course if you want.

Oh. what more to say about the campus.!! You will wake up everyday of your morning to find yourself going to the class crossing the lake, and in the amusement of all the nature beauty, you feel blessed. The clubs are great and everyone is welcomed to each and every club. There is this place called SAC, where all the students activities are held and you surely learn and explore a lot of stuff in the evening after your clases are over. Talking about sports- we have basketball, football, hockey, Cricket, tennis, badminton, volleyball, table tennis squash, athletics and so many grounds and equipment to play with. All you gotta have is desire and drive to play. The coaches are there to help you with anything if you approach to them.Cultural clubs include from dance to music to Anchor clubs, drama club( which is by the way the must go to club) , photography club, movie club and fest clubs.I have had one of thr best experience with the fest club , Alcheringa, during my 2nd year where I had so much fun and learn so many things over the course of my college journey. Tech clubs are also there from robotics to aeromodelling to coding clubs to electronic clubs and so many more.All in all you will love yo be in a place like this. It just can't get better than this.

I stayed in Dihing hostel(2nd oldest), and we had a basketball court of our own where we used to go and play. The food is good really , breakfast are healthy and its pretty hygienic. As soon as you step in your hostel, you get a single bed single room(isn't it awesome?), A chair, a table and a closet to keep your stuffs. There is 24*7 wifi through LAN connection and all you need to buy is a LAN cable from the stationary shop. Each hostel has its own juice centre, stationary shop(where you can buy all the necessary stuffs honestly) and a canteen where you can get maggie and all kinds of snacks even at the night of 2 a.m.
