Remarks

VGSoM, IIT Kharagpur is famous for its MBA programme. The college is top notch in placements, infrastructures, faculties and rankings also. That was the reason for me to join here for pursuing MBA. The admission is merit based on CAT scores, WAT and PI.

Course Curriculum Overview

The industry led curriculum makes the MBA students into corporate professionals. The case studies, projects, seminars, classroom lectures, seminars, assignments, summer internships, etc are some of the teaching methodologies.

Placement Experience

The campus placements both in summer session and final session id good and decent in salary packages. In 2021 final campus recruitment drive, INR 26.5 LPA was the Highest CTC and INR 18.44 LPA was the Average CTC. ICICI Bank, Kotak Mahindra, Oxane Partners, TresVista, Wells Fargo, Accenture Digital, Axtria, Ford, MuSigma, OSG Analytics etc were the top recruiters.

Fee Structure And Facilities

INR 1159760 is the fees for the programme. The fees are subjected to revision. Scholarship schemes are limited in the college. Educational bank loan facilities are available from the banks for those who apply

Campus Life

The campus life is very active. Students had to join a minimum of 2-3 groups, either academic or non academic groups. Tech Club, E-cell, Saamanjasya - The Social Club, Drishtee Capital, Consulting Club, Finterest (Finance club) etc are some of the popular clubs in addition to cultural clubs and commities.

I don't have idea about the placements since I'm in first year now. But I talked to a senior and got to know that many got multiple offers in 4th year. I also head that packages are around 4 lpa which is a decent and also a rise than the previous year.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

1. Students generally get eligible for campus placements from the 3rd semester of the M.Sc. course. 2. Deperments like Biotechnology,Botany,Zoology have placement support. 3. Companies coming to campus like TCS,Wipro,Deloitte,Biocon,Pfizer. 4. Deperments with strong placement cells secure 10-15 offers per company, depending on batch size. 5. 8-10LPA Highest package offered by Leading companies and 4-5LPA Average package offered by companies. 6. 60-80% of students getting placements. i am interested in Ph.D. programs for research positions.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

It's my decision from class 12 that I will do civil engineering, so I chose the civil branch, the course curriculum is well and the teaching level is good but the main problem is lab, there is very limited classes for lab, so I think they should improve there.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.
