Life at IIT

The reputation of college. The research background of the college with good placements were the deciding factor to choose this college. The students coming from the diverse background all having same level of intellectual also plays a key role.

I wanted to get into software field but due to my JEE rank I have to trade of my field. But I am happy with the field I chose and this field is interesting as well. The student to faculty ratio is about 15:1 not exact though. All the professors have masters from esteemed university (mostly foreign universities) and they have deep knowledge about the subject and are able to give the same. We have exams every 4 weeks approx and they need good knowledge of the subject.

I got an internship through college in a renowned bank of Paris as a software engineer

After second year all the top companies hire for internships. After the third year placement season starts. I can't name all the companies as their are more 250 companies which came for campus placement last year for 700 students batch. The highest package is more than a crore each year with lowest package not less than 7 lakhs. Almost every student is placed and no one is left. I don't have any plans further just getting a good job is a mojor priority right now.

The fees are not hiked regularly. Still it is quite subsidized being the government institute. The cost is around 1040000 for 4 years including everything hostel and all. But if you are financially weak or coming from a minority class the fees is only 240000 for 4 years. The job depends nearly on one's skill but the average person can easily secure a job of 12 to 15 lakhs.

The annual cultural fest is Alcheringa which occurs in first week of february and our tech fest is techniche which generally occurs around month of september. Nearly all the required books and journals are available. We have a 3 floor library with a seating capacity of more than 1000 students. We have sports ground for every sports such as cricket ground, athletics ground, football ground, hockey, volleyball, basketball etc. There is club for every cultural as well as technical field which is headed by two to three members excelled in that field.

It is compulsory for the IIT students to opt for campus hostel only. We have individual rooms with ample of space with number of almirahs. The food quality is good and the menu and food quality is under the supervision of some hostel students only. We have a feedback form as well if the quality deteriorates the action is taken against mess manager. Also the room rent and food is too cheap which costs around 30000 for 4 months with everything electricity and all.
