ROORKEE COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING REVIEW

I had applied for some regional engineering colleges but they were not up to the mark as they have poor infrastructure, lack of good faculties, and basic facilities. I was very confused about choosing the right college and then came to know about the Roorkee College of Engineering, the college provides placements in top companies and has top-notch faculty. Hence, I have chosen this college. For admission in Civil Engineering students must have passed X & XII in any of the streams with minimum of 45% marks and must have a little bit of knowledge about the subjects that are taught in Civil Engineering. The online inquiry/ registration/ personal visit to campus is compulsory before admission. The admission can be taken online by mailing or using Whatsapp to send the documents and depositing the fees of Rs 25000/- through Cash /Cheque/DD/ NEFT/ RTGS for seat confirmation in course of your choice. You can also take admission by personally visiting the college along with requisite documents.

I have chosen this course because Civil Engineering is a creative career. Students think that creativity can only be found in an arts career but they are completely wrong. The vast number of different designs for buildings, bridges, and other structures shows how Civil Engineers have to think outside the box to solve a wide range of problems. The faculty members of our college consist of Professors and Lecturers from various fields of specialization. They are very keen on teaching and are very friendly. They put their best efforts to make the students understand the subjects. The faculties are the backbone of our college and they really work very hard for the college academics.

As per the proforma provided by the University, at the end of the 6th-semester students become eligible for campus placements. Roorkee College of Engineering provides campus placement opportunities to all students in International and National organizations or companies like The Indian Navy, Indian Army, HCL Technologies, India Mart, Jk Tyres, Hero Motocorp, New Holand, Atlas Cycles, and many more on handsome salary. The highest salary offered is 26.80 lakhs per annum and the average salary offered is 4.30 lakhs per annum. In the year 2020-21 around 1645 students have applied for the placements among which 1470 students got selected, which means approximately 89 of the students got placement.

The courses offered by our college are not much costly. Students who can't afford the fees are provided with loans at the lowest possible interest rates. And also the college authority has organised several scholarship programmes to benifit each and every deserving students of our college. The students who have secured more than 60% in 10 th/ 12 th class and his/her parents belong to Armed forces /Farmers/ Freedom Fighter/ Teacher/ RECians Siblings/ Uttarakhand Domicile shall be eligible for college scholarship of 25% of tuition fees of first year. Also the students who secure 80% and above marks in any semester will be given academic award of Rs.5000 for clearance of all the subjects in first attempt.

Throughout the past several years our college has organized several cultural and technical fests/events like the WORKSHOP/FDP, TECH SANGRAM, FREEONZ, UTKARSH and the SPORTS CARNIVAL EVENT. These events are conducted between the month of November and January. The library of our college contains a rich collection of 38000 books, 108 print journals, thousands of magazines & daily Employment oriented newspapers, more than 1lakh e-books and approximately 4500 peer-reviewed journals. Roorkee College of Engineering boasts of superior infrastructure for sports and actively creates opportunities for students to take an active part in sports competitions. In this endeavor, the college conducts the Zonal Sports Fest named "The Sports Carnival" in the month of November every year. Students from various institutions actively participate in multiple events like Chess, Table Tennis, Basket Ball, Volley Ball, Cricket, etc.

Keeping in view the college hostel provides a secure, comfortable and healthy environment for all the residents of the hostel. The well-furnished hostels are equipped with modern amenities and facilities for sports and recreations such as T.V., outdoor games, indoor games, etc. Net surfing facilities are also available in a wifi-enabled system. The hostel premises comprises of a seperate dining facility in Krishna Dev Bhawan, Munna Lal Bhawan, and in Prem Lata Bhawa. The food served at the hostel mess is of high quality and meets the acceptable quality standards as laid down under FSSAI and other government food safety regulations. Special consideration is given to provide a well-balanced, nutritional diet with varying food tastes.
