Entrance Preview

The college was not the first choice but my grades and the proximity to my home was the reason to opt for it. But I had heard it has good faculty in ECO (H), which was correct.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Course curriculum was intense but not as dynamic as it should have been (in 2008, not sure now). I felt there was a need to study the new dynamics of the economy like digital India and their impact. Also I felt there could have been less emphasis on history and old economic systems.

Internships Opportunities

There was no internship provided. But the senior students and faculty did tell us to find relevant internships. But I felt there could have been more focus on practical exposure apart from academics.

Placement Experience

1.5

No it did not have a good career placement team. We were pretty much on our own. But the faculty did assist on resume building and suggesting opportunities we should apply for. I remember I got an opportunity to be interviewed and I took advice on the same. One of my faculty did a mock interview, which was my first ever.

College Events

2.5

All events had good participation but mostly from colleges nearby. For most good events we went to other colleges. There were sports meet, debate competitions too but only handful. The overall culture was ok and didn't really make the college stand out for it. There were not any management festivals hosted in the college.

Fees and Financial Aid

There was a nominal scholarship offered but there wasn't a loan facility. The fee was anyway nominal so was not needed.

Alumni/Alumna

Don't have a great alumni network. I think there needs to be a conscious effort to bring some alumni to interact and speak to students.

Exam Structure

The exam structure in 2008 was annual. And later changed to semesters which is good. We used to have internal exams throughout the year. And attendance was stressed upon. But the exams were very hectic because of the tough curriculum.

Admission

Admission was on basis of class 12 grades. There was no interview or GD conducted though there needs to be a better process. Also once the forms were filled for admission, the first, second and consecutive lists were shared by college in college premises and not on email or website. It did prolong the process. And since college is not in main campus it did take an effort to visit.

Faculty

4.5

Faculty has always been good at Rajdhani. It was a good mix of young and experienced professors. The emphasis was on conversations and interactions and not just text book chapters. We were encouraged to understand what's going on in economy and put it in context of what we studied.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is a bit too theoretical and less practical. The exams in the college takes places every month which are seasonals and are for internal marking and then we have semester exams in every 6 months which accounts for the external marking.

Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is really very interesting. It keeps up with our expectations. Involves both practical and theoretical aspects to make sure that we are able to face the real world. Also, with the help of the guidance that we get from teachers we're able to ace both the aspects. The examinations also are based on applications, thus, helping us to enhance ourselves in all possibilities.

I got a seat in Ramjas College. It is a north-campus college. The infrastructure is too good compared to the remaining colleges. The teaching also going well but I faced some language problems. I'm from south India so I don't understand Hindi properly. But here mostly they teach in Hindi only and English is used very rarely.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself is prestigious and is mostly opted for by people who plan either on preparing for the Civil Services or those who want to pursue academia. The course structure is framed in a manner that you don't just simply study history there, but you ingrain a critical viewpoint of a young historian. The faculty of History Hons. has some of the best Professors in the University, although you will in any course at any college find some teachers below your expectations, you don't have to bear them for more than 1 or 2 semesters. Passing the exams is not very difficult, but yes scoring above average is. If you get a GPA ranging from 6 to 7, you've performed fine. Above that is considered a Very good performance in Hons. courses of Social sciences at Delhi University. there are semester exams every 5- 6 months
