Remarks

I have chosen to take admission only in the Maharaja Agrasen College because the college has a unique culture of inclusiveness, diversity, personal and intellectual integrity and value based education. The curriculum has a strong focus on individual growth and the development of essential tools so that its students make a mark in the corporate world and the field of technology. Students who are seeking admission in the college must have completed their 10+2 or equivalent examination in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English (PCBE) with a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate. The college puts an extensive effort to make the admission process smooth and expeditious. Students can apply online for admission or can purchase the application form from the college campus and submit the same in the office of The Director of Admissions and Academics with all complete information along with required documents.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

I have chosen this course because, with the growing number of communication channels, the number of audiences has also increased at a huge rate. Presently in India, journalism has become a prestigious career choice for many students. Journalism is a challenging field and it is playing a key role in the development of the nation. The faculty to student ratio of our Journalism Department is 20:1. The college strictly follows its academic calendar concerning the conduct of mid-semester and end-semester examinations, evaluation of the answer scripts, and declaration of results. The timely completion of the academic session has been a policy of the college that is strictly implemented and is instrumental in helping the students to prioritize their goals in a time-defined manner.

Placement Experience

5

Students generally become eligible for campus placements from the 5th semester. The top renowned companies that come to our college during the campus placements are INTEL, TCS, WIPRO, HCL, IBM, MICROSOFT, INFOSYS, TECH MAHINDRA and several others. The highest package offered is 19.67 lakhs per annum and the average package offered is 4.88 lakhs per annum. Maharaja Agrasen College has been consistently setting records of campus placements amongst private institutions all over the country. Over the past 8 years, over 93% of students get their placements every year during campus placements.

Fees and Financial Aid

Maharaja Agrasen College offers six categories of scholarships to encourage extraordinary talent in academics, sports, music, dance and literary categories. Apart from this, the college also admits candidates with visual, auditory and other significant physical disabilities to all the courses. The scholarships are reviewed regularly by the college and the committee reserves the right to introduce new scholarships or to cease the award of scholarship at any time. The scholarships within each category will be awarded based on merit and are not transferable.

Campus Life

5

'VARCHASVA' is the Inter-college techno cultural fest of Maharaja Agrasen College. This annual affair brings with it new surprises, new challenges, new winners and lots of fun along with. It is a two day event that features a number of activities and events that challenge the potential of students from all over the city. Every year the students unite in a combined and synergised effort to organise this festival. The central library is one of the central support services of our college. The library is well equipped with modern facilities and resources in the form of CD-ROM, Online databases, e-journals, e-books l, audio video cassettes, books, journals, project reports, etc. The mission of the central library is to provide information services and access to bibliographical and full text digital and printed resources to support the scholarly needs of the college community.

Hostel Facilities

5

The college hostel has excellent residential facilities provided for both boys and girls on the campus. It has furnished rooms with laundry services and has facilities for indoor and outdoor sports for all hostel students. A hostel cafeteria is an ideal place for students to hang out and spend leisure time. The cafeteria always provides fresh and hygienic food to the students. The college hostel also has two different mess halls, which accommodate more than 500 students at any given time and serve wholesome and hygienic food 4 times a day.

The course curriculum is a bit too theoretical and less practical. The exams in the college takes places every month which are seasonals and are for internal marking and then we have semester exams in every 6 months which accounts for the external marking.

Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is really very interesting. It keeps up with our expectations. Involves both practical and theoretical aspects to make sure that we are able to face the real world. Also, with the help of the guidance that we get from teachers we're able to ace both the aspects. The examinations also are based on applications, thus, helping us to enhance ourselves in all possibilities.

I got a seat in Ramjas College. It is a north-campus college. The infrastructure is too good compared to the remaining colleges. The teaching also going well but I faced some language problems. I'm from south India so I don't understand Hindi properly. But here mostly they teach in Hindi only and English is used very rarely.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself is prestigious and is mostly opted for by people who plan either on preparing for the Civil Services or those who want to pursue academia. The course structure is framed in a manner that you don't just simply study history there, but you ingrain a critical viewpoint of a young historian. The faculty of History Hons. has some of the best Professors in the University, although you will in any course at any college find some teachers below your expectations, you don't have to bear them for more than 1 or 2 semesters. Passing the exams is not very difficult, but yes scoring above average is. If you get a GPA ranging from 6 to 7, you've performed fine. Above that is considered a Very good performance in Hons. courses of Social sciences at Delhi University. there are semester exams every 5- 6 months
