Remarks

For my course(B.A Eco Hons) one has to clear IPUCET. The minimum criteria to be eligible for this exam is 60%.The syllabus of this exam is not prescribed by any known authority stuedents appearing for this exam just rely on seniors or previous year IPUCET paper. In my case i was advised by my senior to just revise your 11th and 12th maths and economics syllabus but in real the questions in maths were of basic concepts such as average, interests, percentages, profit and loss and as far as economics is concerned the questions difficulty level was moderate for 12th pass students but if you know the concepts you can easily avail the good rank as i scored 606 rank. It was an online exam at the greater noida centre. The centre was well maintained and staff was also good. The entire admission process was online with online payment mode for college fees.My first priority was BBE as a course but my score in DUJAT was not good hence i landed up in VIPS

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

ECO. HONS is indeed a difficult course but economics was always been the subject i really like micro and macro but do not have a keen understanding of maths. With my college, i have come to see economics as an easy and more analytical subject as teachers have a command over their subjects(holds PHD degree) and imbibe it well among their students but due to online platform somewhere it is monotonous due to lack of class interaction. Class strength is 50 which is a moderate number. Teachers are polite and helpful. There is 1 internal and 1 external exam every semester and scoring marks in exams and assignments is as easy as pie. Apart from the curriculum, we also have value-added courses such as excel which greatens our skillset. Overall it has been a great time to date as i finish up my first year.

Placement Experience

4

One of my reasons for choosing VIPS over MAIMS was of placement oppurtunity. According to seniors vips perfroms excellently well for placing its students in well established companies. From 5th semester onwards students becomes eligible for job oppurtunities but college does not promise anything for 1st and 2nd yera students. some of the best companies such as Deloitte, Infosys,ICICI bank, Oracle etc visit the campus and even the placement cell helps students to perform well in their recruitment process. On an average 85-90% students get placed in well known companies with average package of 3-5 lacs. I will try my best to avail the oppurtunity provided by vips for job.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees for the course is 108000 which is large sum. To be honest i don't see justice for such a high cost for online mode of teaching.Recently, there is formation of various students union which are approaching the university for reduction in fees structure in times of pandemic. There are no scholarships benefits for anyone but ya financial assistance is given to minority groups such EWS,OBC etc but are not for general category students. The other disturbing fact is that there is no installments policy. In first year there is no jobs placements but i have heard that our college provide good placement oppurtunities and there is even a placement cell dedicated for this purpose.

Campus Life

4

VIPS enhances your overall personality by giving various platforms. There are many societies in which one can keep themselves occupied such as Aflatoon, antrakshar, gender champion, investment cells, etc these are centralized societies in which all students from various course interact on the other hand economics departments has its own societies such as kalaa, VYOM, Arthvidya, etc, I am personally impressed about the design of the societal structure of VIPS to enroll max. a number of students thus helping each individual to explore oneself. The campus is always maintained and classrooms are the best part with centralized AC, comfortable seats, and smartboards. The library has an ample number of books on each course and the Computer room is also large and resourceful. The ground area is reduced by the construction of the new building which gives students less relaxation space. VIPS also offers a book bank facility.Till now I have not across any kind of fest. The canteen menu does not offer a wide variety.

The course curriculum is a bit too theoretical and less practical. The exams in the college takes places every month which are seasonals and are for internal marking and then we have semester exams in every 6 months which accounts for the external marking.

Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

The course is really very interesting. It keeps up with our expectations. Involves both practical and theoretical aspects to make sure that we are able to face the real world. Also, with the help of the guidance that we get from teachers we're able to ace both the aspects. The examinations also are based on applications, thus, helping us to enhance ourselves in all possibilities.

I got a seat in Ramjas College. It is a north-campus college. The infrastructure is too good compared to the remaining colleges. The teaching also going well but I faced some language problems. I'm from south India so I don't understand Hindi properly. But here mostly they teach in Hindi only and English is used very rarely.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself is prestigious and is mostly opted for by people who plan either on preparing for the Civil Services or those who want to pursue academia. The course structure is framed in a manner that you don't just simply study history there, but you ingrain a critical viewpoint of a young historian. The faculty of History Hons. has some of the best Professors in the University, although you will in any course at any college find some teachers below your expectations, you don't have to bear them for more than 1 or 2 semesters. Passing the exams is not very difficult, but yes scoring above average is. If you get a GPA ranging from 6 to 7, you've performed fine. Above that is considered a Very good performance in Hons. courses of Social sciences at Delhi University. there are semester exams every 5- 6 months
