NICMAR-Great PG college.

I had completed my B.Arch and wanted to pursue post graduation from a well known college so as to enhance my career. NICMAR was the first option in my mind, so besides giving CAT and GMAT I gave NICMAR common entrance test exam. Placements and learning are very good. also it provides various PG options for B. Arch. students. As far as the admission process is concerned, Online application has to be filled on the official website along with required documents are uploaded and application fee of Rs. 2100 is paid per opted program. Print of all the documents and application form has to be sent to the Dean- Admissions on the given address. After attempting NICMAR entrance test, shortlisted candidates are called for Interview on the basis of application eligibility and scores obtained. Then evaluation is done on the basis of NCAT(180 marks), PI(50 marks) and rating of application(RA)(70 marks). If fulfilled all three criteria acceptance letter is received on email.

I chose this PG program because I wanted to understand the Business industry where I would be able to apply my architectural skills and management skills and grow accordingly. Also If in future I wanted to start my own venture. both these skills would help me establish the same. Major number of faculties are PhDs and other assistant professors are those who have masters degree or are pursuing PhD. There are faculties who are MTech in construction Engineering and management.

Placements are 95% every year. Top companies that visit for recruitment drives are ITC, ICICI, Shaporji pallonji real estate, shaporji pallonji international, L& T Construction, AFCONS Infrastructure limited, Lodha group, continental engineering, TATA Steel and many more. Average package offered was 6.75 LPA.

Total fees for the two year PGP IFDM was 1059100. At the time of admission tuition fee of Rs.2,22,500/- is paid with Rs. 5000/- admission fee, GST of Rs. 40,950/-, security deposit Rs. 3000/-. After this Rs. 2,62,550/- is to be paid every semester for upcoming 3 semesters within 7 days of semester commencement. There are four main scholarship programs namely NICMAR top rankers scholarship, NICMAR means based top rankers scholarship, NICMAR Excalibur award scholarship and NICMAR merit scholarship scheme. Each scholarship has different eligibility criteria.

Campus Life is awesome. There are n numbers of fests and events organized throughout the year. I thoroughly enjoyed and learned a lot in those 2 years. Library has more than 2000 books each on thesis, journals ,compact discs,. E-Library is also there in library itself. Conference hall with 35 seat occupancy and auditorium with 300 seat occupancy are also there in campus where various seminars and workshops are organized. Both Indoor and Outdoor sports facility are available. Campus has 24*7 Internet facility. TECHNI-KALA is the inter college techno-cultural fest organized every year from 15 years. NICMAR Premier league is the annual sports event. REVERBZ, CHAKRAVIEW, SPARDHA and UDBHAV are the other major annual events.

Millennium hostel is the only option for girls and Millennium, silver and ultima hostels are for boys. 3850 INR is the monthly rent of twin sharing room. food package charges are separate costing of Rs. 275/- per day. This includes breakfast with tea, buffet lunch, evening snacks with tea, and dinner buffet. Hostel rooms had common amenities like bed, cupboard, study table and chair etc. AC and Wi-Fi facilities were also included.

Yes, I did face a Personal Interview Round after NCAT. Personal Interview round constitutes of 50 marks that are considered while shortlisting for admissions. If score is good then only they call you for Interview.
