B.Tech- E.E at IIT Kharagpur

The reason why I opted for IIT Kharagpur was the reason that it was among my top 3 priorities for BTech. It was placed 5th in 2020 BTech as well as overall rankings of NIRF. For seats allocation to IIT Kharagpur in BTech program, the centralised JOSAA counselling round is the major process. I got to learn about all the process and steps from one of my relatives who completed his BTech at IIT Madras

My father was an electrician and it drove my interest towards Electronics and I finally decided to opt for BTech-E.E. The institute has combiningly 40+ centres of excellence, Departments and school. IIT Kharagpur works as per the industry immersive course curriculum and helps students to learn both theoretical & practical knowledge

I was not among the participants of Internships and thus don't have any personal experience but I know more than enough about the kind of offers it had. As most of my friends were present there and almost all of them got pretty good stipends.

Over 85% of the BTech students got placed during the 2020 campus drive and the number of participants crossed the 210 mark. The average salary package of INR 19 LPA tells very about placements quality and the most number of packages were offered by IT firms. Top recruiters during the drive were Deloitte, Bajaj and AbsolutData Research & Analytics and my package was worth INR 20 LPA.

Students of BTech-E.E program at IIT Kharagpur will have to pay a total fee of INR 3.16 lacs which can be paid in equal shifts throughout the 4-year program. The students of SC/ST category are given aids and financial grants in the program fee under particular conditions.

IIT Kharagpur is called the most beautiful IIT as far as the campus and its activities are also great for students all-round performance growth. The major events Prakriti,Robosoccer, Spring Fest,technical fest and leadership summit along with the library services are very much loved by the students. The Development Society,Tech Club,E-cell, Social Club, Drishtee Capital, Consulting Club and Finance club are also there at IIT Kharagpur and they arranged all activities and events related to the respective domains in the best possible manner.

As, the institute is regarded as the most beautiful IIT its hostel life experience was also pretty awesome. I lived in a sharing room with 2 of my batchmates and we really enjoyed our graduation days at IIT Kharagpur hostels. The hostel facilities had all our basic necessities within and the services were pretty modernised also

The criteria to be eligible for IITK admissions is 12 with PCM having minimum of 75% marks. The JEE Main as well as JEE score of applicants are the major factors as these scores are checked during seats allocation in the JOSAA counselling. I prepared for the Joint Entrance Exam for one year after my 12th and finally I was able to get a seat at IIT Kharagpur.
