I was very much determined of studying in my home state college so I gave NIT SILCHAR CSE as my first preference followed by NIT Rourkela metallurgy and the other 5 courses of NIT Silchar. I availed OBC-NCL and Home State quota for admission. Course Curriculum Overview
CSE is the most sought and preferred engineering course right now with the best placements and I have an interest in the IT sector so chosen this. Faculty: student ratio is about 1:45 for tutorial classes and 1:88 for theory classes. Faculties are highly qualified with masters and PhD degrees in their respective subjects. They teach really good and has interacting and descriptive qualities. Mid sem and end sem exams are held both once in a semester with minor class tests of every subject before each. Exams are not difficult, one having a good understanding of the topic will surely pass with good numbers.
Internships Opportunities
Amazon, Goldman Sachs, Microsoft, Oracle, Samsung etc offer internships with roles like SDE, analyst etc. Stipends are also offered depending on the work and role. Since I haven't done any projects so I cannot say much about it.
Placement Experience
00% of students were placed from the CSE branch of our college. The highest package offered is 41.86 lpa while the average is 14 lpa for the CSE branch. Top recruiters were Amazon, Goldman Sachs, Arcesium, Oracle, Samsung etc. About 70% of students get internships every yr in different companies as mentioned above. Fees and Financial Aid
The fees structure is 144840 for first year students in the online sem and obviously, it is lesser for Sc/st/PWD students and those based on annual income. Generally, a fees hike is not observed but you can expect a hike of 1k -2k in total. Scholarship, financial help, job everything can be got on campus.
Campus Life
Incandescence is the annual cultural fest held in February while Technoesis is the annual technical fest held in October. Both are organized with very high budgets and many celebrities come and perform in the fests. Many socio-cultural clubs like Obiettivo (Photography club), NITS eco-club, Gyansagar (Social welfare club), NITS Music club, dance club are present for developing extracurricular activities. Facilities like labs, library, Digital Classroom, Wi-Fi l, Canteens all are available in our department. Hostel rooms contain Wi-Fi, bed with mattress, table, chair etc. The outside view from the balcony is very beautiful?. Also, the view from the hostel terrace is exceptional. Mess food is very good, you will find a variety of menus of both veg and non-veg items. Sports and medical facilities are pretty good. Football ground, cricket stadium, basketball, badminton, squash courts are all available.

Hostel rooms contain Wi-Fi, bed with mattress, table, chair etc. The outside view from the balcony is very beautiful. Also, the view from the hostel terrace is exceptional. Mess food is very good, you will find a variety of menus of both veg and non-veg items. The registration process for a hostel is the same as through college registration. The locality is pretty good to rent a room or PG.
