Remarks

Admission on the basis of JEE main exam rank. Josaa is the allotment process name. I belong OBC quota. Did not get admission in the first 7 rounds. Then I go with the CSAB round. I get the college admission criteria pure on JEE main rank(NRI another option). Min the mark I think 50% in maths, physics, and chemistry in class 12. Counseling day is very nice. No need to hurry they give space for our admission.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum is excellent also well qualified faculties. I chose civil due to my rank(my fav branch is mechanical) but I like this also. I didn't know about the student: faculty ratio I guess 1:40. Faculties most of from Ph.D. holders from IITs are mainly focused on concepts. Exam bit of difficulty that improves our quality also improves GATE exam chances.

Internships Opportunities

I didn't much know about this. But a large no of companies visits every year. In the corona situation, the companies decrease that's a big problem for the non-IT field branch. They give coding classes to overcome this one.

Placement Experience

The placement is too good. Last year its around 87%. From 5th sem onwards eligible for placement. MRF, DELL, UBER, and more IT companies visit colleges every year. I plan to go for GATE and UPSC EXAM(higher studies).

Fees and Financial Aid

I belong to the OBC quota also my income is below 1 lakh that makes me tuition-free. Some misc fee exam fee is there around 5000 per sem. Also, I get an MCM scholarship of around 10000 per annual. The college also provides a loan facility if anyone needs it.

Campus Life

One of the best campus life. Kerala's greenery and environmental beauty make it more colorful. TATHVA and RAGAM is the annual fest and tech fest one of the big in South India. Digital library available many more club namely maths, adventure, etc. Also support sports stadium include cricket, football, volleyball, etc.

Hostel Facilities

Best hostels available also good food include all type of food(south and north). Single double room available. Common room. Enough bathroom with good quality. Registration is the simplest one. Just see the chief warden and pay fees.

Highest package was 1,00,000. And the average package is around 4,00,000. Almost all students gets placed from the campus .

My Experience at NIT Calicut

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the EEE course curriculum around 8-8.5 /10 in terms of relevance.The curriculum provides strong fundamentals in core electrical engineering subjects and prepares students well for core jobs and higher studies.The course curriculum was revised in 2023, and our batch is the 1st batch under the new curriculum. however, there are still limited coding ,AI and data science subjects in EEE ,which could be improved. Exams are conducted times per semester and are generally moderately difficult.

Is engineering here worth it?

Details Of NITC

I have choosen this college because it is of top 5 NITs and i am getting a good branch. I have apllied for remaining top nits also, but i got this for my jee mains rank( i couldn't make to other top nits because may be of lack of good preperation for jee). When compared to remianing NITs, this college has everything that every other NIT also have, the sports facilities here can be improved. I wanted to get into Mechanical Engineering in any of the top NIT's so applied for all the NIT's in the NIRF ranking order with mechanical in every college so after the counselling happened to get into NIT Calicut.
