Remarks
The admission process was quite easy. I got into Ramjas in the 5th cut-off. I chose history Hons. and I just needed my 12th standard documents such as boards result, migration certificates etc. As I mentioned earlier, I got into Ramjas in 5th cut off and the minimum marks percentage required was 94.75% and fortunately, my best four was 94.75%. The teachers and seniors were really helpful and guided me throughout the admission process. The next day, we had an orientation programme and the professors going to teach us, basically introduced themselves and introduced us to the syllabus. The admission process was smooth and the orientation also went well.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose this course because I was always interested in history as a subject and also the faculty of history in Ramjas is well known, so I wanted to study under their guidance. In our first year, there were about 70 students in my class and 4-5 professors (including the GE and AECC). The faculty is really qualified and many of them even have a phd. Professors always encouraged us and were never in a rush to finish the subject, instead they wanted us to understand each and every thing before moving forward. We completed our syllabus well before the exams. We had 2 semester exams in a year and plus an assignment or sometimes 2 in every subject. I won't say it was difficult once you understood the concept. Teachers were always ready to help us out in need.
Internships Opportunities
I did not really apply for an internship. I thought to wait for a year but with covid and studying from home, it was kind of difficult for me to intern. But the placement cell of our college is really efficient, it arranges a lot of seminars on colleges, placements, etc.
Placement Experience
Placements are good in our college. Students get opportunities to intern since the first year and I think they are eligible for campus placement in the last year. My last year has just started, but a lot of internship opportunities have come across. After getting the degree, I plan to prepare for government or competitive exams.
Fees and Financial Aid
Hike in fee would definitely be a problem for the students already struggling financially. As a financially well-established student, I didn't have much problem but I feel it's definitely going to affect students with financial problems. I never really applied for any jobs or internships.
Campus Life
Every year there's a college fest, which has been on hold since the virus. Apart from that, each course conducts its own fest and students from other courses are welcomed to join too. Most of the books are easily available in the library, and it's really helpful because some history books are way too expensive so the college library definitely helped me. All the amenities a student would need to study, are available in the classroom. Table, chairs, blackboards, and in some classes, even whiteboard. Considering the heat in Delhi, ceiling fans are also provided. There were regular competitions and students were allowed to participate according to their talent or skill. There were plenty of opportunities for such students. I have heard that the 'Ramjas daily' newspaper is a student's initiative.
