Remarks
The admission process is simple, one has to fill the DU admission for most of the colleges within the University. The next step is to wait for the cut-off and choose the college of your choice which might match your credentials, i.e. 12th board score. Following this, the student must submit necessary documents to the College of their choosing and pay the college fees on the DU Official website.
Course Curriculum Overview
The reason I chose, BA English was because of my interest in literature and as I am an avid reader. A student of BA English must be prepared to tackle a lot of readings, Classic literature, and critical analysis of said literature. The Faculty of Dyal Singh is experienced and helpful. They are strict towards marks, as they expect the best from their students. Most of the members of the faculty have a doctorate, while everyone has a master's in English. Exams are scheduled twice a year, while mid-terms are taken before each semester's examination.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees structure for the General category is affordable and ranges between, 10,000-14,000. There is a placement cell within the campus that offers job opportunities to the students. students get good placement in top recruiting companies with a package of around 3 to 4 Lacs. The number of internships is also high, and most of the students get internships to work mainly related to content writing and related to product selling.
Campus Life
Campus life is joyful and friendly. Dyal Singh annual fest is held every year, while each department also holds its own fest. As for the English department, Madrigal is held. The college library offers an abundance of books, while the professors also provide the students with notes and study material. There are many different societies which students can be a part of, like, debating society, poetry and writing society, fashion society, painting society, music society, etc.
