AKASH KUMAR's Review On National Institute Of Technology - [NITC], Calicut

I took IIT JEE. I gave JEE mains 2016 and scored 150 marks in it. I also qualified JEE advanced 2016,but i was not getting a good iit,so i opted for NITC as it is much better than many IITS and also it is 5th best nit in india. It is also kerela's best engineering college.

The course structure is awesome.Here the entire 4 year course is divided in 8 semesters.The 1st and 2nd semesters include subjects of all branches,which helps us to be familiar with the courses of other branches too.Then from 3rd semester onwards our branch splits up in different specialisations like-structural engineering, geo technical, environmental ,offshore,etc.

Yes, our college provides internships. During final year various companies came in NITC and they provide a great opportunity to prove ourself that we are best for jobs.

Our college is known for the south india's best cultural and technical fests that are tathva and ragam ,Tathva during monsoon semester and Ragam during winter semesters.In TATHVA and RAGAM huge number of participants are there and we really had a lot of fun during these fests.

The campus of NITC is spread over a large area and there are trees and greenries all around is.It has the best surroundings and we can breathe fresh air here. There is a great equality for all genders,indeed the sex ratio of kerela is highest all over india ,here girls are considered equally important as boys.

There are 11 hostels and few flats for men and two hostels for women. The total capacity of all hostels and flats currently available is more than 6000. There is a separate hostel- international hostel for guest accommodation. One more mega hostel for boys is being constructed to avoid the crowd in the rooms.

The way of conduct of exam is nice.We had 2 tests test1 and test2 gnd finally we had semester exam ,total 100 marks exams out of which test 1 and test2 are of 20 marks except maths 25 marks and semester paper of 50 marks ,remaining is internal marks on assignments and labs. we don't have hectic day ,rather we are chilled during exam days also.

Our faculties are wonderful. In our college each subject is taught very nicely and our faculties of some important subjects like graphics and mechanics are experienced and teaches us beautifully . I just love the way our faculty teach us.Our teacher is highly qualified also,our maths teacher is from IIT MADRAS,and many others are from iits or nits,etc.
