IIM KASHIPUR REVIEW

As IIM Kashipur is located in Uttarakhand, I finally convinced myself to indulge in the lap of Himalayas and always wanted to experience the climate there. But also the other main factors for choosing IIM Kashipur is there operations, management, faculties are best among the new IIM then that in IIM kashipur. That is the main reason for taking admission in IIM Kashipur.

It depends on the course, it is 60:40, 70:70, 80:20. Every IIM follows the same kind of pattern. It is called TGTM program. The TGTM is the first year will be the organization of all kind of domains like management site can have, finance, marketing, HR, operations and 2nd year you get particular specialization in marketing in operation etc. the general management degree have multiple majors, multiple minors, all the specialization and it is a general management student. The average strength of the batch is 170 students. Faculties are 30-40, every faculty is involved in live projects with the students. Most of the faculties came from govt. colleges. They incorporate in all the projects. I was part of lot of live projects with the faculties. My experience got highlighted with the faculties. I liked the most of the faculties. The live project opportunities, lectures. Hostel life, classroom experience, new techniques of learning through lots of things. It is a holistic approach to grow a individual person from all sense so that it makes a complete manager. So, it is how I followed my path.

The median salary for summer placement was 16-60k. for finance was 12-14 LPA. The companies SNGC companies etc.

The total expenses during the course duration is 16 lakhs including hostel fee, college fee, and other expenses in the college campus. The college provides scholarship to 2nd year students based on financial condition of family, based on performance in interview, and score obtained in 1st year. We get pocket money expense from the bank. They give scholarship to limited students group of 10. The fees are 50% reduced with the provision of scholarship.

Hostel life is good. You can-do late-night study. Hostel life teaches to manage yourself before you become a manager. Campus is brilliant. It is one of the finest campus compared to other IIMs. The campus is full of greenery, park, lake etc. the building is much similar to IIM Ahmedabad with red bricks walls. Inhouse facilities of passive techniques of cooling with no AC. The food given in the mess are healthy. Timely food and good quality.

I gave CAT exam then there were GD interview process. I approached various institutes where I had given many mock interviews in one year duration. There were VAT and PI written ability test. It is time limited written test of 15-20 minutes and a topic is given and within that time you have to write on that topic. After completion of the process they select for PI round. The interview was taken in IIM Kolkata as it was near to my homeplace. The faculties ask maths questions and analytic questions. The interviews are very tough.
