Akshay Sharma's Review On Graphic Era University - [GEU], Dehradun

I took AIEEE( now JEE Main) and scored 49 numbers in 2012 so i was eligible as per graphic era that time. I choosed graphic era because it is the only deemed university for Btech in Uttarakhand and was second best college in Dehradun in 2012.

As per research our college is best in Dehradun because it has highly educated faculties so if any student want to do some research in any particular topic he/she have a great opportunity to get helped by such talented faculties. In our college we also have a research lab for those students or faculties who are interested in doing so.

Yes my college provide internship but not for all B.tech branches and my branch was not included in internship provided by college so I don't know much about it.

Placements are average as this year few MNC's came such as WIPRO, INFOSYS, COGNIZANT,etc and around 350 students were placed out of 1000 students. But even not being placed i was happy as most of the companies were IT companies and i belong to IT field so it was rememberable movement for me.

Fee in graphic era is expensive. It is around 1 lakh per semester and hostel fee is around 75000 per semester means total Btech fee is around 11lakh and your personal expenditure as transportation, books, movies etc is not included in it. So for a middle class family it is must to apply for loan to study in Graphic Era.

Yes, our college provide scholarship for students either getting above 75 percentage in intermediate or JEE Main rank below 1lakh. Also if you score more than 75 percentage in any semester you will get scholarship in that particular semester.Depending upon your performance the amount is provided by the college.

According to gender ratio there were around 60 percent boys and 40 percent girls in our college.Yes there were many extracurricular activities held in our college in which students from entire Dehradun were allowed to take part. Seniors of our colleges used to organise workshops every year in robotics, ethical hacking, etc. which was free of cost for students for our college.

No for me exams and labs were never hectic, infact i loved to go to labs as most of the labs are air conditioner and infrastructure of college is fabulous. During exams there are 3 to 4 faculties in every class for duty so cheating is not possible so this could be hectic for some students but not for me. I enjoyed a chilled out movement.

I filled the registration form available in admission cell(now online available) and submitted to receptionist there. After some days ( about 10 days) i got a call for counselling from Graphic Era which i attended. As already i had selected B.tech as my course so i was asked which branch i want and i selected Information Technology which i got then.

Most of the faculty in college was highly educated and some of them were from IIT's, NIIT's etc. Infact there were faculties for particular subjects and sometimes for particular topic also. So it was great to have studied from them. Also faculties were friendly to students, At the mid of every semester a feed back form is given to students for every faculty who teaches them.
