Kamla Nehru College, a bunch of opportunities

The admission process was quite easy as it was an online process. I applied for many colleges such as Delhi college of arts and commerce, Kalindi, Bharti college. But out of all, every person suggested me for Kamla Nehru College. The admission is on a merit basis for this course. The maximum marks required is 95% for the general category and 90% for SC, ST, OBC. For admission, you just simply have to choose the course and the college providing the course. Thereafter, you directly apply on the website of that particular college/institution.

I chose journalism as my major as I was already a mass media student in my 12th standard. I wanted to continue in this field only. The faculty of Kamla Nehru is the best I would say because the professors are extremely amazing. They would teach and communicate in a way that a person would never want to miss the class. Journalism honours have 50 seats in total for all the categories of students. There were exams each semester and it is not difficult to score well if you study and perform well during your lectures.

The college offers internships to students. The professors themselves help the students with it. They keep their students updated with upcoming and ongoing internships and workshops in different fields.

From the 5th semester, companies start visiting colleges for placements. The average annual package is 4 lakh per annum and the highest can go up to 12 lakh per annum. Students need to attain an average of 7.5 or more than 7.5 cgpa for good placement. After my graduation, I will continue my further studies and complete my postgraduate degree in Canada.

The fee for one year is 18,700. Students can also get fee concessions if they wish to get them for valid reasons. The college provides you with several placement opportunities during the final year. The admission is completely on a merit basis therefore you don't get any scholarships. But you get more consideration if you apply in categories like sports, eca .etc.

The fest organised by the journalism department is the journo junction fest which is organised every year in April. There are many more workshops, tech fests and pop music fests which are organised by different clubs and societies of the college. Kamla Nehru has a very well equipped library with thousands of books in every field almost. The college has a dozen societies for dance, music, acting, literature, technology etc. Kamla Nehru also offers the students to join NSS, NCC and NSO. The college infrastructure is quite old skool but is decent at the same time. The campus has facilities of sports ground, gym, labs and many more amenities.
