Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course is very amazing and interesting, there are six semester in total, the first and second semester constitutes of four subjects each. In the rest of the semester i have to study five subjects each. Each of the subject focuses on a particular time period and how literature flourished at that time. The courses are not difficult to understand and easy to cope up.

Internships Opportunities

Yes, there is placement cell in my college which provides placement opportunity for students of every course. Major Recruiters are EY, KPMG, Wipro, L&T , Icici Prudential, Genpact, TCS , Concentrix, Convergys, The Oberoi Group , etc.

Placement Experience

3

Many recruiters are regularly visiting the college campus for placements. They proposes an average package which ranges from 3-5 lakh. The company which approaches our college places students from different courses. There are fourteen courses in total and the companies have a wide variety from which department they want to choose .

College Events

4.5

Priyadarshani 2016, The Annual Cultural Festival of Dyal Singh College (Morning), University of Delhi is held in February. Different colleges participates in it and there is a blend of different colleges and its a three day celebration. there are in total eight societies which held different fest respectively and compete with different colleges .

Fees and Financial Aid

My college does not provide scholarship and loan . The reason is because almost every one can afford it. The fees ranges from 5000 to 20000 for two semesters. There is annually two examination forms that one needs to fill and with that there is a examination fees which is less than 1000 rupees.

Campus Life

3.5

The campus life of my college is amazing and very cheerful. Students from all over india and even from different countries comes and study here. There is a blend of cross culture. There is a diversity of cultures in the college. There is a mixture of both the sexes in the campus. The college provides relaxation for female gender.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

My college campus does not have a hostel facility. I think that my college should provide it for the outstation students as the PG facilities are very costly and not every one can afford it. The government subsidies the fee of college hostel and students can avail it and it will cut out the expensive of students too.

Dyal singh college has produced leaders, entrepreneurs, academicians, artists and writers. Our Alumni have made proud time and again by achieving laurels round the globe and we wish to showcase the same to our entire family. Immense dedication, devotion to the subject area and the passion to perform has enabled older students to scale to higher positions.

The exam structure of dyal singh college is called Under the CBSS, the requirement for awarding a degree or diploma or certificate is prescribed in terms of number of credits to be completed by the students. It is a measure of overall cumulative performance of a student over all semesters. The CGPA is the ratio of total credit points secured by a student in various courses in all semesters and the sum of the total credits of all courses in all the semesters. It is expressed up to two decimal places.

Then, i waited the cut off to realise of different colleges so out of the lot i can choose the best among what i deserve. The course curriculum is a bit too theoretical and less practical. The exams in the college takes places every month which are seasonals and are for internal marking and then we have semester exams in every 6 months which accounts for the external marking.

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

The course is really very interesting. It keeps up with our expectations. Involves both practical and theoretical aspects to make sure that we are able to face the real world. Also, with the help of the guidance that we get from teachers we're able to ace both the aspects. The examinations also are based on applications, thus, helping us to enhance ourselves in all possibilities.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself is prestigious and is mostly opted for by people who plan either on preparing for the Civil Services or those who want to pursue academia. The course structure is framed in a manner that you don't just simply study history there, but you ingrain a critical viewpoint of a young historian. The faculty of History Hons. has some of the best Professors in the University, although you will in any course at any college find some teachers below your expectations, you don't have to bear them for more than 1 or 2 semesters. Passing the exams is not very difficult, but yes scoring above average is. If you get a GPA ranging from 6 to 7, you've performed fine. Above that is considered a Very good performance in Hons. courses of Social sciences at Delhi University. there are semester exams every 5- 6 months
