Remarks

Being an IIT, it was one of the obvious choices. I had heard a lot about the IIT culture and it was all quite true. The admission is based on the entrance exam JEE. It's definitely one of the hardest exams but the price is worth it.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum seems to be standard with some additions. The faculty is just as one might expect with very educated teachers. They are all experts in their subjects, some are really good at teaching those concepts and some not.

Placement Experience

You have to do an internship after 2nd year if you are enrolled in a 4 year course and after 3rd year if you are a dualite. The IIT tag of course helps you get a better placement. Most companies here offer Software, Analysis or finance jobs with a few core companies.

Campus Life

The campus life is quite amazing. All your batchmates, juniors and seniors, having been screened after one of India's hardest tests are obviously really smart and motivated. You will learn a lot from them. The library is also quite good with lot's of hardbound as well as a digital library.

I don't have idea about the placements since I'm in first year now. But I talked to a senior and got to know that many got multiple offers in 4th year. I also head that packages are around 4 lpa which is a decent and also a rise than the previous year.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Deperments with strong placement cells secure 10-15 offers per company, depending on batch size. 5. 8-10LPA Highest package offered by Leading companies and 4-5LPA Average package offered by companies. 6. 60-80% of students getting placements. i am interested in Ph.D. programs for research positions.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

It's my decision from class 12 that I will do civil engineering, so I chose the civil branch, the course curriculum is well and the teaching level is good but the main problem is lab, there is very limited classes for lab, so I think they should improve there.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.
