M.Tech from IITG, Worthy without a question.

For personal reasons, i was not able to attend any other college interview or test. But got iitg in coap round 5. After joinning, I won't regret my decision of joining IITG, environment is too good hete, course work is quite good, u will get a lot to learn. For placement, yes i guess, even in covid pandemic situation, everything is managed quite well and 100% placement for cse is resulted.

For the first sem, we have 3 core subjects and 2 electives. For electives, I chose speech processing and data mining taught by prof. Pk das and prof. Sansam Ranbir Singh. Speech processing was literally the best course, learn with the implementation type course. PK das sir, he makes sure, that everyone should maintain nice notes. Passing the course is easy, if one pays attention in the class otherwise, ut will be really tough. Same goes for data mining course, sir has a digficult accent to understand, but it will take some classes to get used to with that. But this course is literally tough if you don't have any prior knowledge of ML. At least a little basics needed. Otherwise this course will take most of your time and effort. 50-50 weightage for thepry exam and for assignment.Exam pattern is theory + assignments. Theory exams consists of mid term and then end term exams.

For M.Tech course, placements are after the completion of second semester. Written exams i.e. coding tests start from september and continue till november. Then results of coding tests will start to come in end of october or November. Interviews start on the 1st of december, 12:01 am. Like this is the first slot, where students shortlisted for the companies of first slot will give interviews and got the offer on the basis pf their preference, if they glt multie offers. This slot is from 12:01 am to 6:00 am in the morning. Then next are called as spot rounds which are from 8:00am to 2:00pm and 4:00pm to 10:00 pm. Here companies give offer on the spot, if the students gets selected. He/she is not supposed to give all the interviews of the spot round. Hence here one should prioritize his/her interviews according to his/her preference. After this day also, the placement continues in the same manner.Around 100+ companies visited. Some are like Microsoft, google, oracle, GS, JPMC, Sap labs, Paytm, Morgan Stanley, and many more. 100% cse batch is placed and highest packave is from Microsoft 45lpa and average package is around 23lpa . Highest package from m.tech data science is offered as 70lpa for MLE profile by MTX groups. I got placed in oracle with a 28lpa package. I am planning to join the company after completion of my m.tech.

For M.Tech course joined through gate, all are affiliated to AICTE Teaching assistant stipend, which is 12400 per month. Generally, the fees is for first sem apprpx 50k and after that for every subsequent sem, around 35k, all the fees mentioned by me, includes hostel and mess charges also. But due to covid, if we are continuing are course from home, then it will be around 10k for that sem.

Campus is really beautiful, you can never get bored here. Everything, the lakes, view point, even the roads sides views are so beautiful. One can easily fall in love with the campus. I was not the right person to explain about the clubs, as we got to spend a very little time in campus due to covid situation. But there are almost evetything and every club, which one can think of. Indoor games facility is there as well as outdoor also, like volleyball, basketball and running ground, cricket space. Every hostel also has reading room, a little library, and sports facility room and many more facilities.

No, only document verification was required after I selected iitg in coap portal. For this verification, we had to come to iitg even before any confirmation of the offer. This is the only thing which seems to be a little vague as it costs a lot for a person from a far city.
