Overview of Haldia Institute of Technology

This college is one of the best in entire state in terms of education, campus and placement records that convinced me to take admission in its B.Tech programme.I gave WBJEE(entrance exam) on February 2020All others entrance exams were cancelled due to covid situation and I am unable to attempt JEE and COMEDK due to medical reasons, so results of WBJEE were my last hope.WBJEE results were out around august or september(my rank was around 7500 approx.) I gone through the 1 month long counselling processMy rank was not good enough to get popular universities like Jadhavpur or Kalyani so, I started to search for less popular universities which I could grab on.I have been alloted MCKV in first round of counselling but on second round I got Haldia Institute of Technology and I selected it immediately, on third round i got IEM but I choose Haldia cause of good Infrastructure, better campus and facilities, and NIRF ranking of 160.

I choose B.Tech CSE AIML cause I am pretty sure about my passion towards computer science and feild of AI always attracted me.Faculty to student ration is good here, our class strength is only 63 and we get multiple subject teachers for theory and practical releaed papers.I have not a good idea about qualification of faculties but their teaching style is good and they always try to catch up every student and give us plenty opportunities to clear our doubts.Our classes have been started from December 2020 in online mode and till now i havent got a chance to visit my college.Due to delay in starting the classes due to covid situation countrywide our first year is finished in a period of 8 months so, i have no idea what will be frequency of tests in normal times and passing tests in online mode is pretty easy but yes, faculties were serious about the examinations and give importance to it.

Our college doesnt provide any internship opportunities, companies visit our campus but only for placement drives.

Our university has a placement cell, companies like Infosys, Infotech, TCS, Wipro visit every year while sometimes companies like Amazon and Adobe also visit our college for placement drives. My college doesnt provide any internship opportunities. My plan is to go for off campus opportunities for internship and then for internship.

46000 tution fees per semester12000 hostel fee if you choose to2000 examination fee But I havent yet visited or lived in campus so I have not any idea about campus job, but they provide financial assistance and loan opportunities

I have completed my whole first year in online mode so, I havent got chance to visit campus. They have a lot of social clubs including coding, music, language and racing and most of them were student driven.

I have written WBJEE entrance exam and gone through the counselling process. I have prepared for national level entrance exam JEE which helped me a lot in this exam as they have almost same syllabus.
