Entrance Preview

I got admission on the basis of marks scored in 12th exam. As the college comes under University of Delhi, the admission is purely based on cut off basis declared by each college in the various courses they offer.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

I am pursuing BA Pass course in economics and political science. It's a combination course. The syllabus is rich and you as the standards of DU portrays, the college's curriculum is uniformly in accordance with all the colleges of DU. Economics is not much vast even for a student who never studied it. In addition to these two, we have to study two languages that is Hindi and English.

Internships Opportunities

No my college doesn't provide internship. Though there are various clubs and societies organising internships but most of them are unpaid.

Placement Experience

3.5

Placement cells are there in every department to help out students with placements and other job opportunities. Generally students pursuing courses in arts go for competitive exams and seldom do they opt for placements. Packages are quite good in commerce department.

College Events

4.5

A freshers party is organised in the starting of session for New students. That is one common fest. Various departments too organise freshers for their respective department students. There's on annual fest which is organised in the month of January every year.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees is very nominal and anyone can afford it. I have paid 6,000 for one year that would be 18,000 for overall course. As it is a government college, the fees is very nominal. For other courses too the fees is near about this figure only. So that student from any section can afford quality education.

Fees and Financial Aid

There is a scholarship given by university for meritorious student. It is purely on the basis of marks you have scored in semesters. Also you can get financial assistance by writing to university administration.

Campus Life

3.5

The sex ratio is almost equal. Student participate actively in various co curricular activities. There is a huge ground for cricket and football, courts for basketball, volleyball and badminton. NCC is also there and also college organises trips on yearly basis that is actually deprent wise.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

There is no hostel of college and no mess but there are many boys and girls pgs around the college which provide space at affordable prices. Also they provide you with food and all so that you don't have to pay hefty amount everyday. Moreover there are affordable food joints near by. The college has one canteen which provides normal junks at little charges.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni keep on visiting the premises at various occasions. They are very helpful and always willing to guide students on various career prospects.

Exam Structure

Exam is organised by University and its uniformly organised throughout every college of DU. The questions are easy if you have studied well in the classroom. Exams are organised after every six months. That is semester system basically. Yearly exams is there for student of distant learning courses.

Admission

Firstly the cut off was declared. Afterwards I went to the college premises with my class 12th certificates and mark sheets. The administration verified the documents and then fees was submitted. It was not much of a lengthy process. Although there were big lines and you have to wait for sometime but then it's all worth it. There are current students roaming around to help you with any difficulties.

Faculty

4

The faculty is good. Teachers are friendly and cooperative. They have vast knowledge and are always ready to help you out with any difficulty you are acing. Many a times extra classes are also organised by the teachers to help the student get a better understanding of the topic. If you focus properly in the class there's no need to give extra time to books outside.

The course curriculum is a bit too theoretical and less practical. The exams in the college takes places every month which are seasonals and are for internal marking and then we have semester exams in every 6 months which accounts for the external marking.

Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

The course is really very interesting. It keeps up with our expectations. Involves both practical and theoretical aspects to make sure that we are able to face the real world. Also, with the help of the guidance that we get from teachers we're able to ace both the aspects. The examinations also are based on applications, thus, helping us to enhance ourselves in all possibilities.

I got a seat in Ramjas College. It is a north-campus college. The infrastructure is too good compared to the remaining colleges. The teaching also going well but I faced some language problems. I'm from south India so I don't understand Hindi properly. But here mostly they teach in Hindi only and English is used very rarely.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself is prestigious and is mostly opted for by people who plan either on preparing for the Civil Services or those who want to pursue academia. The course structure is framed in a manner that you don't just simply study history there, but you ingrain a critical viewpoint of a young historian. The faculty of History Hons. has some of the best Professors in the University, although you will in any course at any college find some teachers below your expectations, you don't have to bear them for more than 1 or 2 semesters. Passing the exams is not very difficult, but yes scoring above average is. If you get a GPA ranging from 6 to 7, you've performed fine. Above that is considered a Very good performance in Hons. courses of Social sciences at Delhi University. there are semester exams every 5- 6 months
