Remarks

Symbiosis college of arts and commerce had always been my dream college since I stepped into the commerce field. I was aware of the value this name held and was afraid if I would get into this college or not. So for my backup, I had applied for admission to Chitkara University, Chandigarh, and GCEC, Jaipur. Fortunately, I got admitted into both, but I waited till the admission process for Symbiosis began. The merit list date was announced and I still remember how anxious I was during those days waiting for the cut-offs. The first merit list for Bcom with ACCA had a cut-off of 93% for the academic year 2021-22. Since I had scored 95% in my 12th std, I was confident that I would now be a Symbian. Next was the step to pay the fee and get all the necessary documents prepared. The college site worked so efficiently that there was not even a single issue that had me anxious or worried. As soon as the fee was paid, I received my admission form, my roll number, and my division. And that's how I got SCAC.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

Now ACCA was something totally new and foreign to me. Everyone around me was doing either CA or a normal bachelor's degree. I had the thought of doing something different, something uncommon. After my detailed studies and analysis of this course, I got to know that ACCA is as valuable and as respected as CA, and achieving this would make me a true professional. In SCAC, there exists an MoU with the ACCA body in the UK which makes pursuing it from here easier and efficient. After attending classes for almost three weeks now, it is justified to say that the faculty has been nothing but student-friendly. The classmates and crowd for the same course are equally intellectual and determined. The professors themselves are professionals and highly educated. Even during these times of Covid, when the classes are online, teachers have been giving their 101% to make teaching lively. So there is nothing to double think about in regards to teaching methods.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

Internships can begin from the first year itself. Generally, the big four firms visit the campus to provide internship facilities to the students. By the third year, a student has a high chance of getting employed in a good position by the same companies. Generally, the procedure starts by first registering through a google form, and then when the opportunity arrives, get selected through rounds of interviews and tasks.

Placement Experience

4.5

The internship club is available to the first semester students itself and placements began usually during the third year. Deloitte and EY are the two major companies among the big four that recruit students from SCAC every year. The minimum package for placement is about 2-3 lakhs while the highest can be 20 lakhs+. After completing my ACCA, I hope to be placed into one of the big fours or into an MNC that will be able to provide me an opportunity to work abroad. With SCAC, this hope seems a sound future.

Fees and Financial Aid

Being a brand that symbiosis is, the fee for the college is definitely not expensive. For all the facilities provided, placements available, and all other shenanigans that are top-rated, the fee seems pretty nominal. The college website, at the time of fee payment, presents a detailed fee allocation chart. It thus becomes easier to see through the facilities available and to know where the money is being spent. Now SCAC is a global body. It has its understanding with colleges in Germany as well as France. The student exchange programs and other opportunities are present here that expose a child globally and nourishes him accordingly.

Campus Life

4.5

The symbiosis events are known for their enthusiasm and the opportunities they provide. Every now and then some activity is held for sure to teach children valuable life lessons, out from the books. During these online classes, SCAC has made the library available for all the students and allows them to issue books that are delivered to their houses. Name any sport, and it is there in symbiosis. Be it basketball or kabbadi, the college has the provision for that. Tournaments are held and many events take place. For clubs, I am still unable to process through all the available clubs. The count doesn't stop. You name a skill, there exists a club. The clubs are actively managed by the students and it helps to keep the clubs young and fresh.

At TCSC placements are quite good as anyone. Even the SOBO colleges and Mithibai don't have placements as good as us. So this is why I always dreamt of studying here because since last 6-7 years, Thakur College placements have gone better and higher.

The good thing is that the college was not strict and was never forcing us to study rather it was seeing to it that it gave us proper advice and help us reach more towards my career goal. The bad part would be there were may staff which was very dull and was not kind, and no importance was given to correct their behaviour although it was evident by all.
