Entrance Preview

None, I did not participated in any of the extra entrance exams, I just gave the class 12th board exams and waited for my results and cutoff list. Its a Delhi University college, so stay tuned to du.ac.in for cutoffs after your 12th board exams. Economics as a subject was my favourite, so when I made the cutoff I did not think twice about my decision to Join Economics Honours.

Course Curriculum Overview

1.5

The core curriculum of the course is pretty neat and focused on research, that said it for the student to take benefits from the electives they will choose after they are enrolled in the course. CBCS have some issues, but nothing major. The student must take full advantage of electives systems introduced.

Internships Opportunities

None, The placement cell is good but barely any internship opportunity is given out to students. The NOC system in our college is very rigid as well, you really need to please the HOD to get a NOC.

Placement Experience

3

The placements and Job opportunities is very good. The placement cell offers 200% placement guarantee, ie for every student sitting in placement gets at least 2 offers different companies. Banks like ICICI and RBS are often seen during placement time, the placement cell have done a good job in this respect.

College Events

3.5

Not Many festivals are held at the college, One major yearly fest is held at the college and nothing special. Stars like Badhshah come and perform. Since the societies are fresh and have rarely kicked started yet, not many fests are seen over the year. NSS is pretty active in doing movements for the betterment of the society.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is very easy to pay and cheap. The annual fees of my course, ie Economics Honours is round about 6200 only. Apart from this, many book grants are offered to students in need. Also, an extra of 1000 bucks is charged as an examination fess, apart from this no major cost is incurred by the student.

Campus Life

1.5

The societies is the main core of our college, this is what keeps the student alive and away from boring infra of the college. Debating, Enactus, Ecell ,Management societies are all very active and recruit students from 1st year actively. People from all over India and abroad are present at Deshbandhu to make it a very diverse place to study in.

Faculty

0.5

The faculty in my college is very lethargic and barely care about the overall development of the child. They just come in and teach whatever they prepared to teach, nothing special. If you are a mediocre student then barely any attention will be paid towards you.

The course curriculum is a bit too theoretical and less practical. The exams in the college takes places every month which are seasonals and are for internal marking and then we have semester exams in every 6 months which accounts for the external marking.

Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is really very interesting. It keeps up with our expectations. Involves both practical and theoretical aspects to make sure that we are able to face the real world. Also, with the help of the guidance that we get from teachers we're able to ace both the aspects. The examinations also are based on applications, thus, helping us to enhance ourselves in all possibilities.

The course offers many things for students interms of their further academic pursuits or any placement they are looking for. Talking about the areas of improvement and teaching methods there are none. The exams of the respective subject are to happen. They take test 1 , test 2 and there is final exams.

I got a seat in Ramjas College. It is a north-campus college. The infrastructure is too good compared to the remaining colleges. The teaching also going well but I faced some language problems. I'm from south India so I don't understand Hindi properly. But here mostly they teach in Hindi only and English is used very rarely.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself is prestigious and is mostly opted for by people who plan either on preparing for the Civil Services or those who want to pursue academia. The course structure is framed in a manner that you don't just simply study history there, but you ingrain a critical viewpoint of a young historian. The faculty of History Hons. has some of the best Professors in the University, although you will in any course at any college find some teachers below your expectations, you don't have to bear them for more than 1 or 2 semesters. Passing the exams is not very difficult, but yes scoring above average is. If you get a GPA ranging from 6 to 7, you've performed fine. Above that is considered a Very good performance in Hons. courses of Social sciences at Delhi University. there are semester exams every 5- 6 months
