Remarks

I applied to Mata Sundri College for Women, New Delhi, in the year 2018. The admission process at that time was quite easy but very time consuming. The college staff was super helpful. I did not avail any quota. My course was BCom Hons. No interviews are conducted for admission in BCom Hons. Candidates are required to have passed Class 12 or an equivalent exam to be eligible for admission. There is no age bar. The percentage is calculated by including the best four marks of main subjects. One language subject (either Hindi or English) and maths must be included in calculating the percentage. If you include any subject which is not in the list of main subjects issued by Delhi University, then 2.5% is deducted from the overall percentage of the students. There are some concessions in percentage for the sc/st, obc and Sikh minority candidates. After admission, the college conducts orientation to make students familiar with the surroundings. Overall the experience was nice.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

I chose BCom Hons because I wanted to pursue MBA after that. It is a good course for students who took commerce in school. Faculty members were very supportive and approachable. They provide quality education and are very good at knowledge sharing. The exams are conducted every six months. It is neither too easy nor too difficult to clear exams. One can pass the exams by regularly attending the classes in the college. The Library of the college is very good. There are books available for each course and each semester. It is very easy to get books from there and it is very helpful at the time of exams. Overall staff members are very supportive. For some subjects like evs they take students for field trips also so that they can learn easily. Labs are well maintained in the college.

Internships Opportunities

3

College provides a number of internships throughout the year for all courses and students of every year. Internships are mostly for 3 or 6 months. The minimum stipend offered is 1000. But on average, most companies give more than that. Mostly the role in the sales department is offered, Or the position of a business executive or the role in the hr team is offered. The process of recruitment is the same in most companies.

Placement Experience

3.5

Internships are there for all courses and all years but placements are only for final year students. Placements: Our college is best for the placements. It has a placement cell. It provides us with many opportunities to get placed in future. They provide more information for internships. Around 80% of students from our college get placed. The highest salary package offered is 6 LPA, and the average salary package offered is 4 LPA. The lowest salary package offered is 2 LPA. Top companies like RIYFT, ICICI Bank, etc., visit our college for placements. Almost 50-60% of students from our course got an internship. After BCom Hons, I'm going for further studies.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure is quite normal. The fee for the whole course (BCom Hons) is around 58000 (for 3 years). There are no hikes in fees since I have joined the college. There are no other charges than fees. I have never seen any scholarship program being conducted or given to any student on a merit basis. There is a placement cell in the college. Most of the students that are deserving get good internships and placements. Internships for all years and courses are provided throughout the year. Permanent jobs are provided only for final year students. The placement cell is not too good neither too bad. It is average. But some internships and placements are from super amazing companies.

Campus Life

3.5

Every year mata sundri conducts its annual fest in February or March. In between the year, some other fests are also being conducted by the departments. The library in mata sundri is quite good. Books for every year and all courses are available in the library. The staff members are also very supportive. It is very easy to get books from the library and also very helpful during the exams. The classroom is well maintained. Some classrooms have interactive boards also. Washrooms are not well maintained. Mata Sundari has a sports complex at the back of the college and a lot of eca activities are available in the college.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Well i choose this course because I didn't got what I wanted. Many students are from arts background who got this course because they had no option. The curriculum is same as school all chapters and everything. The law section is new. About buisness and law and everything. Rest is same. Changes in curriculum is not in their hands. But if they could actually change the accounting syllabus. The timing of exams is normal 2:30 to 6:30. And internal test taken by perspective teacher are according to their time and class. They will take retest incase you didn't attended.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I really was interested in finance and taxation from the beginning. This course aligned rightly with my interests. The curriculum is based on real world applications. Corporate accounting, financial accounting, company law, human resource management, these are very important considering change in the job market and business world. Not only real world applications but one can also go for further academic pursuit such as a master's degree and research. This makes the curriculum really diverse. Some areas of suggestions would be that in theory subjects there should be practical activities. Just like vestibular training. The time of exams is just right. After the completion of syllabus of a particular subject, we are given 10 days of preparation leave. The exams are moderate and it really tests our ability and knowledge based on our studies.

For placements fifth semester student are eligible for placements. Since it is best commerce college. Companies like big 4, google, bank of America, Goldman Sachs, bcg, bain and co., Sbi, paytm, meesho and many more comes. The highest package was 36 LPA this year from meesho for senior analyst roles. Average package is 10 LPA. Most of the placements take place in consulting, marketing, auditing, finance and analyst roles. Around more than 50% of the students get placed. My plan is to take placements in consulting and finance roles after the degree from the college.

The placement of my college is good if you perform well in the process of selection, as I told earlier, the placement cell is pretty active, so you would have a good number of options. I will be naming the good companies that visited my college, they were EY, Deloitte, DE SHAW, TCS, KPMG, etc. Numerous offers were made and I would say over 80% students in my batch got placed in good companies.

Course Curriculum Overview:

In open learning management.. they provide hard copy of books tk prepare whole semester and this is a very good thing because those books are covering whole semester in some books only and there is a v good thing I found... At the end of every chapter they provide summaries and mock questions for every chapter to analyse the weakness and strength. the areas for improvements in the Course Curriculum and Teaching Methods--- they should also provide a mock test paper as per the paper model and latest questions or updated topics with to the point topics The difficulty is normal if candidate is completely prepared...
