I am from the General category and didn't apply for any quota, since I got 98.75% in my 12th standard, but that year cut-offs were soaring heights, so I managed to get admission into Sri Venketeshwar College in the first cutoff, then the 3rd cut-off got released and I got eligible for applying in KMC, so I did, and after my documents verification within 2-3 days, I got a notification from KMC for fees payment, getting done with all the formalities, we had our orientation day on 19th November 2021 and from there on the beautiful journey begins.

I chose B.A.Political science Hons as my course, because of my keen interest to know what's happening all around and what excites me the most is international relations. On our very first day I.e., the orientation day, when we were introduced to our faculty and batchmates, there were around 100 of us, interacting with them made me more confident that yes I was under the guidance of the right people. Each teacher had their unique way of teaching which is evident of how much qualified they are and having great intellect, helping students with their doubts and queries and welcoming each and every type of opinion and yes, their lesson to critically analyse everything, weighing its pros and cons and then coming onto a conclusion, it makes them more pragmatic. Since it was all in online mode from the very first day, so we had our 1st sem exams in online mode only(OBE), which were too easy to attempt and for the 2nd sem, there were no exams, we were promoted on the basis of assignments.

Companies like Weber Shandwick, Xpress Minds, Atom EI, and Niti Ayog offers various roles like Marketing Manager, Content writer, Public Relations, Research Intern with stipends of more than 10k, along with Letter of Recommendation.

Kirorimal College has a well-organized placement cell, and students become eligible in the final I.e. third year of graduation for campus placements. To date, Kirorimal College has got the second highest package after LSR. So many eminent companies like Wipro, KPMG, India Infrastructure Publishing, etc visits frequently, providing limited offers for excellent candidates. A handsome amount of students get through.

The fees are much affordable, I paid around 12,000 for the 1st year, but those from the EWS quota and financially unsound background filled a form for a scholarship on the National scholarship portal, and those fulfilling the eligibility criteria, got a waiver for their fees and availed many such benefits. And talking about the second year fees, this time we had some reduction of some 200-300 compared to last time.

Since it all began in online mode, so we didn't get much campus exposure, in the initial stages it was too difficult to make friends in online mode but when you'll start exploring and joining many societies, so you'll find like minded people to be friends with. Talking about the annual fest, so, La politique, the Political Science department, KMcollege, in which we have so many fun activities, exciting competitions and live speaker sessions with eminent personalities. Talking about the library accessibility so we had our library cards made in the very beginning, and can access them with proper adherence to the SOPs. Societies and all, I have been a part of NSS-KMC, wherein we have to teach the underprivileged children apart from that I've been a part of the Ritva Foundation, initiated by one of our seniors, working towards menstruation awareness. The Lantern Tribe, which is a youth led magazine, initiated by one of my batchmates, publishing about topics that are least talked about.
