Rishabh Sharma's Review On DIT University - [DIT], Dehradun

I applied for UPES and Graphic era but chose DIT university because of better placements of campus infrastructure. The admission criteria is based on the following: 1. board exams 2. JEE mains score The minimum criteria for admission is 65% in boards or JEE rank about 1.5 lac. The minimum age is 17 years If you score more than 85% in boards you will get 15% scholorship on tution fees or if your AIR in JEE is between 1 lac- 1.5 lac. It was a 2 day process. I applied online for this university and when I uploaded my boards result I got a counselling letter from the University. On 11th June 2018 I submitted all my documents related to JEE, boards, address, govt. ID etc. On 12th June 2018 they prepared list of students according to marks. The seats were allotted in rank vise manner. My rank was 29 so I easily got branch of my choice.

Computer science is future and there are enomourous amount of jobs opening in this stream. Moreover the CSE placements of this college are exellent. faculty is good for cse. There would be around 20-30 faculty for 100 students. Faculties are well experienced. Some are PHD, some had done M.Tech and some has industry experience. The teaching method is nice. The timetable of this college is kind of strict. The exams were frequent but there are mid-terms and end-terms. The difficulty level is average if you paid attention in class. However they don't just pass everyone. If anyone is failing he/she needs to clear bck exam

Internships are provided with placements however there are summer internships as well. I got summer internship from campus with a stipend of 5K for 2 months. There were some unpaid internships as well. The project was related to full stack developmets, gowever i mostly worked on back-end.

CSE placements are exellent. Students from 7th semester are elidgible for placements. They also provide options for summer internship. Lot of companies like infoysys, cognizant, IBM, Delloite, Unthinkable solutions, MAQ softwares, amazon, adobe, dell, etc visit our campus. CSE placements are 95%, Average package if 4.5 lac with highest packege 20 lpa. however for profiles related to SDE, highest packege was 13lpa with average 4 lpa. Around 95% students are placed before final semester. I myself prefer to work in IT company and I currently hold 3 offers.

when I joined the college my per semester fees were around 1 lac. Every year there is a hike in fees by about 10%. The scholorship policy is as below. More than 75% - 5% scholorship More than 80 % --> 10% scholorship More than 85% --> 15% scholorship However, this university provides online certifications and training from the industry free of cost, which would actually cost around 20-25K. Also, some students got summer internships in 3rd year with a stipend of 5-10K.

There are 2 fests. Youthopia and sphurthi. Youthopia is best. It lasts around 3 days in which there are tons of events and at last, there is a star night in which celebrities like Meet Bros, Ganjendra Verma, Jasmanak come for a concert. sphurthi is related to sports events. There would never be a shortage for books. The library is excellent with e-books and paperback. There are computers as well which can be used regardless of duration. Classrooms are good with projectors. sports and extracurricular activities are average. They more focus on jobs and study. There are clubs related to coding, acting, theatre, motor racing. One of the famous clubs is DIT motor-racing.

Hostel rooms are well manged with choice of triple, double, single bedrooms. Rooms are not a.c with no attached washrooms. There will be bed, cupborad and study table, Mess food is there with 4 times meals- breakfast, lunch, tea & snacks, dinner. The food is average but not much healthy. It is mostly oily. Hostel can be avialed at the time of taking admision. There are numbers of pg and flats for both girls and boys in nearby location. I took pg in final year which is 500m from university.
