Remarks
I got the college based on my JEE Mains Rank. Also It has a huge campus and the placement records are quite satisfactory. I wanted to get enrolled in Electrical Engineering and based on my air in JEE Mains National Institute of Technology Silchar was the best option available to me.
Course Curriculum Overview
I was interested in Electrical Engineering. About faculty National Institute of Technology Silchar has some great faculties, Some average and some bad just like most of the colleges in India. Student ratio is quite good. Gender ratio is very good in CSE, Civil and EE branch. Mechanical Engineering has quite poor gender ratio. All the exams and class took place on time. Student gets the schedule for whole semester before starting of the semester and that schedule is followed strictly. If course curriculum and class notes are followed with discipline then you will easily get through exams.
Internships Opportunities
No I didn't went for any internship because of covid19 . But students here do get internships. CSE students get internships in Amazon like companies also.
Placement Experience
Placement record is good in National Institute of Technology Silchar. The highest placement are in computer science department and then ECE and then Electrical Engineering. Rest of the brach also have good placement records.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fee details are provided at the time of admission itself. There is no fee hike after you get admission. If there is any hike then it is only for the students who are new joiners of the college. For students having family income below 1 lakhs full tuition fee is waived and for students with income between 1 lakh to 5 lakh get some compensation in the tuition fee. I don't know the exact amount. For income above 5 lakh they have to pay full fee. There are some tuition fee waivers based on categories also. I got a job in a core electrical company in my final year.
Campus Life
There are two fest one technical fest which is called tecnoesis and one cultural fest which is called Incandescence. The technical fest is celebrated in odd semester after the mid semester exams and the cultural fest is celebrated in the even semester after the mid semester exams.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel was provided. And it has all the basic facilities. They don't charge any fee for the hostel they only charge for the mess food which is very affordable. Meal quality depends up on the hostel in which you reside. There are around 10 boys hostel and they all have their own mess facilities. Overall the meal quality is average.
Admission
Only JEE main exam result was used for the admission. At the time of admission you need to submit relevant documents which they will ask with submission of admission fee.
