Satyawati College, B.a(h) economics

Remarks

The management of the college is not that active. The notice board is not updated regularly and we have to go and ask about things and verify.

Entrance Preview

I chose satyawati College because the faculty of economics honors is really good. Teachers actually take lectures.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The economic honours course gives you complete knowledge about all the phase of economics. The first two years include more of practical subjects and the last year is more about theory. It makes the base strong and helpful for those who want to go for research and make a career in the one. Most of the students opt for Ma in economics after completing graduation in economics honours because of they develop interest in the subject and so are determined to make their future in the same.

Internships Opportunities

It is a 3 year course, where you can go for internship but the college doesn't provide one. The children can themselves apply for internship where college doesn't have to play any role.

Placement Experience

1

The placement cell is not that good. Being an off campus College, companies come very late and good ones don't even come. Overall the placement cell is not that active. Hardly any good company comes with good package. The package varies between 1 lakh to 3 lakhs and not above this. So childre are not that interested in college placement.

College Events

1.5

Satyawati's events are not very popular ones as they do not happen on a Large scale. Basically there are two big events. First one is fresher's party and the other one is the fest. The budget is not that high but still it manages to call a decent celebrity at the time of fest.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is very nominal. The yearly fees for every course is around 6000 and therefore one can graduate by Just paying 20000 for three years. Intact the college even offers language course and fee for the same is 6000 only which is the lowest amongst all Delhi university Colleges. So you get very good education at very minimal feed.

Fees and Financial Aid

No, the college is a government college and doesn't provide any sort of scholarship as the feed is also very minimal and everybody can afford it.

Campus Life

4.5

The college gives 3% relaxation to girls due to which more and more girls take admission every year but this doesn't mean that there are less boys. The ratio we can say is 40-60. You can alot of children from North East and also alot of blind students as special classes are held for them. The crowd is average and improving with time.

Hostel Facilities

3

There is no hostel but the area in which college is located, has alot of small houses where children can find rooms easily. The canteen of satyawati is a small canteen and there is no AC. You get things like dosa, chole bhature, samosa, tea coffee. But you don't get CHIPS.

Alumni/Alumna

The students are not that helpful and more into their own zone. No any famous alumni from the college but it gives opportunity to its pass out to teach in the college.

Exam Structure

There is university exam which is conducted in all the colleges together. There is a common paper which is circulated in all the colleges which come under Delhi university so there is no different structure and follows the one which every college of the university does.

Faculty

4

The faculty of the college is really good. Specifically the faculty of this course. They are very attentive and concerned. Classes are held regularly and teachers are very much serious. Some teachers give proper notes and take extra classes as well. Tutes are held every week to take doubts and solve problems.

The course curriculum is a bit too theoretical and less practical. The exams in the college takes places every month which are seasonals and are for internal marking and then we have semester exams in every 6 months which accounts for the external marking.

Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is really very interesting. It keeps up with our expectations. Involves both practical and theoretical aspects to make sure that we are able to face the real world. Also, with the help of the guidance that we get from teachers we're able to ace both the aspects. The examinations also are based on applications, thus, helping us to enhance ourselves in all possibilities.

I got a seat in Ramjas College. It is a north-campus college. The infrastructure is too good compared to the remaining colleges. The teaching also going well but I faced some language problems. I'm from south India so I don't understand Hindi properly. But here mostly they teach in Hindi only and English is used very rarely.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself is prestigious and is mostly opted for by people who plan either on preparing for the Civil Services or those who want to pursue academia. The course structure is framed in a manner that you don't just simply study history there, but you ingrain a critical viewpoint of a young historian. The faculty of History Hons. has some of the best Professors in the University, although you will in any course at any college find some teachers below your expectations, you don't have to bear them for more than 1 or 2 semesters. Passing the exams is not very difficult, but yes scoring above average is. If you get a GPA ranging from 6 to 7, you've performed fine. Above that is considered a Very good performance in Hons. courses of Social sciences at Delhi University. there are semester exams every 5- 6 months
