Remarks

After getting the results of JEE mains and ADV there will be seven rounds of the seat allotment process in which we have to make a list of colleges on our wish to join. Based on our Ranks and Reservation benefits we'll be allotted in some colleges which were filled in the list( if we were eligible), if we are satisfied with our allotted college we can report at the allotted college on the given dates, if not we can apply for another two rounds called Special rounds, there we have a chance of getting better courses or colleges. It will be having another option for filling a set of colleges( with an extra fee, according to the reservation). If we are allotted in a special round we must join that course before the allotted seat will be gone, if not allotted in the special round, the previously allotted seat from seven rounds will be allotted with returning the fee of the special round. Improvement in the admission process will be increasing the number of days of reporting to the college during admission as students come from the whole of India.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

I randomly choose the course as I filled the list of colleges as four core courses as of order CSE, ECE, ELECTRICAL and MECHANICAL, according to the NIRF rankings. I actually allotted in ECE, NIT DURGAPUR, I'm not aware that CSE and ECE has the best outcome at that time so I go for the special round in which better colleges and courses were filled in the list. Later I was allotted in NIT Calicut. The faculty some were good and some senior faculties as usually Teaching will be excellent and will be rude( from our side). The education qualification of most of the faculties will be PHD, M.TECH or M.Sc. The teaching will be based on the point and not like a spoon feed which we come across our class 12, it's from our side - the effort of the students. In NITC there will be half marks for the semester examination and 20+20 or 15+15 ( faculty wish) for two terms examinations and 10 for Internal tests. ( These may change according to the faculty). The faculty were well experienced.

Internships Opportunities

2.5

Non core and core both companies visit us for Internships, mostly non core from software side than core companies. And mostly students placed are also to non core companies. These internship companies start visiting us from the fifth semester to the sixth semester. According to the stipend offered companies are divided into A, B and C companies. Companies will visit first and their stipend will be around 3-5 lakhs for a summer internship. These companies mostly check for the courses u have done, and ur tech projects which have to do by yourself. These companies filter the students by CGPA and resume to take the assessments. B companies offer around 60,000 to 1,00,000. For taking this assessment eligibility will be moderate. C companies offer 10,000 to 40,000. All are eligible for taking this assessment. From Mechanical very few will be placed in internships as they were not aware of non core internships. It will be good for students to start preparing early to get an internship opportunity.

Placement Experience

3

From the seventh semester, students are eligible for taking placement assessments. There should be a good cgpa (like 6.0 + ) for taking the tests. Before that, there will be summer internships assessments which starts in the fifth semester. According to our stats, there will be less scope in my branch very few are placed in core jobs. It is suggested to take a course near to the software jobs or prepare according to the internships and placements purpose. If we are good at the core it will be good but better to prepare early for the software side before starting internships. Companies like Microsoft, Oracle, Goldman Sachs, Bajaj Motors, Accenture etc. a lot of companies will visit there will be assessments and PI from them. From the mechanical branch, a highest package from Oracle company of 28 LPA and the average will be around 7 LPA. CSE students have a good scope in placements around 18 LPA average. About 65% of students will be placed. According to the placement, students will decide what next.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees structure varies according to the annual income of the students family. The cost of study here is moderate. The tuition fee varies as null for below one lakh income holders and sixty five thousand for above one lakh income holders per semester. And there will be a semester fee which we have to pay at the beginning of each semester. It also varies as per income. About five thousand for below 1 lakh and sc, st holders above 1 lakh also, and about fifteen thousand above one lakh income holders. Hostel fee will be seperate which is fifteen thousand per semester for everyone and mess fee will about five thousand per month. Scholarships will be available for below one lakh income holders only . According to the reservations the type of scholarship will be varied. As of pandemic we also assisted with Laptops for students who can't afford. There will be more chances of getting internships under CSE and ECE , less for the other cores. According to that any branch student can prepare.

Campus Life

4

The campus is of the too old model but looks good, the maintenance of the campus is too good. There will be two big fests namely THATVA and RAGAM which takes place in September and February ( each in different semesters). The two fests will be most attractive of whole colleges and people around Calicut. Coming to Central Library Most types of books are available according to our study and novels too. But there will be fewer copies of some books so students have to hurry to take the books. The infrastructure of Classroom is too good which are alike of theatrical experience, digital classes etc. Sports are conducted every semester between the branches and there will be unofficial tournaments among the students conducted by the students affairs council. There will be inter NIT competitions where each NIT hosts different sports. I personally thought the grounds can be improved. There will be a lot of social clubs categorised for each branch , it will be useful for increasing communication skills

Hostel Facilities

3

For the freshers, the Hostels will be near to the campus and they will be strictly watched by the staff. There are certain rules and regulations from the staff. For the first years, there will be four students allotted in one room, as definitely two state students will be there in one room as two from one state and two from another which are basically used to increase communication with others. There will be two sports rooms in a hostel for indoor games like Table tennis etc. For the second year, two members for one room in which students can decide their roommates. From second years students will be left some freedom. And for third and fourth years there will be single, double and quadra rooms as students can allot as their wish. The meals will be healthy enough. As in other states, students have to adopt for the meals as they were prepared in Kerala tradition. The registration process for hostels will be done once a year and for freshers, there will be a caution deposit of fifteen thousand.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the EEE course curriculum around 8-8.5 /10 in terms of relevance. The curriculum provides strong fundamentals in core electrical engineering subjects and prepares students well for core jobs and higher studies. The course curriculum was revised in 2023, and our batch is the 1st batch under the new curriculum. however, there are still limited coding ,AI and data science subjects in EEE ,which could be improved. Exams are conducted times per semester and are generally moderately difficult.
