Remarks
The cutoff for the NIT Patna ECE department is around 20-21K. The application for this course is through JEE Mains. The admission process was smooth but the only problem was that it was slow. It took 7 days to complete all admission formalities. The process could be speeded up by allowing some more methods of payment.
Course Curriculum Overview
I took the ECE department because of its high potential in both technical and nontechnical fields of work. The facilities here are highly qualified, in fact, all professors have a Ph.D. in their field. The number of faculty members is enough for the students. Though there is always some good and some bad things, but most of the professors give more than 100% to teach the students. The exams totally depend on the professor. Some professors always give moderate-level papers but some give high-level papers which are sometimes difficult to solve.
Internships Opportunities
The Internship opportunities are equally great here. A lot of companies visit here to provide internships and industrial training to students. The stipend varies from project to project and the level of skill and time that the project demands.
Placement Experience
The placements at NIT Patna are very good. Around 50+ companies visited this year. These companies gave placements to a lot of deserving candidates with mind-blowing offers. The highest placement offer this time was 53 LPA. My plan is to complete my degree and get a high-paying placement for which I need to develop my skills in my domains. Me being an ECE student, have the option to go into a Technical company or a non Technical company. Having a good level of technical skills and great Coding experience is definitely perfect to get good pay in a Technical Company.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee for me as in General Category is 65K per semester and I literally get no scholarship. The fees difference between different categories is too much which is very bad. Some categories have to just pay 3K per semester which is nothing comparable to General ones. I never heard of any scholarship opportunity here. The On-Campus Jobs here are great and pay very well.
Campus Life
Sadly my batch haven't got a chance to visit our college since the beginning, so I got nothing to say about college infrastructure and social life there. But though being online, activities continue with full enthusiasm. There are various Clubs that are very active in organizing various activities. There are Google Affiliated Clubs Google DSC and Hackslash Clubs which give a lot of opportunities to students. There are clubs related to all domains and Interests like Drama Club, Art and Literary Club, IEEE Club, and clubs for racing and aviation where we get to make racing cars and RC airplanes and compete in national level competitions.
