At my time we used to go for on-board sea experience (internship) as junior engineer in 7th semester of college, so a lot of multinational companies started coming to hire candidates in 6th Semester. Top Companies like NYK Lines, Mearsk Lines, TORM tankers, Mitsui OSK Lines, Bernhard Schulte Ship Management, Anglo Eastern and many others visited for recruitment.
Placement Experience
Placement was 100% at my time and this is also a big achievement because no other college can afford 100% placement. A lot of job opportunities are there in this profession. It was said by the people that Merchant Navy used to be a dreamy profession because it gives a lot. Reputation along with Handsome Money.
College Events
Time to time our college organizes different kind of technical, cultural and management programs to enhance the growth of cadets. And every year college celebrates a big event called TEMPEST which is of around 7 days program. A lot of colleges get invitation to join including top government colleges in India.
Fees and Financial Aid
As this is the no. 1 college of marine engineering training. Many banks will come to give you education loan (at low interest rate) at counselling time so you can choose any one of them and return them after passing out from college. College also provides different kind of scholarships for cadets.
