Remarks
I choose IIHM to get more of practical knowledge and for better placements. The college has an amazing industrial exposure. People from the industry take special sessions for the students. Celebrity chefs like chef Ranveer Brar, Sanjeev Kapoor, Kunal Kapur, Chris Galvin are also engaged with the college for special knowledge. We receive great knowledge from the GM's of the hotels about the current demand of the industry.I opted this course because of my passion for cooking food.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course is up to date with the requirement of the industry. We are provided a lot of industrial exposure by visiting hotels, getting ODC's, webinars from the people in industry and 6 months of industrial training (international/ domestic). The faculties are very kind and polite. Every thing is taught perfectly and all the doubts are cleared.
Placement Experience
All the reputed brands visit our institute for placements like Oberoi, Taj, ITC, Marriot etc. The college also provides and opportunity for international placements from Japan, Germany, Maldives etc. All the dedicated and deserving students get placed in good programs of reputed hotel chains. There are different placement process for different companies according to their recruitment policy. Student just have to register themselves in the placement office for the hotel brand they are interested in. The placement department gets in contact with all the brands for placements. Alumni are doing great in the industry. My seniors are recognisable in the industry like Celebrity chef Garima Poddar, chef Nikitha Umesh etc.A program named SAHAS is started by the CEO of IIHM, Dr. Suborno Bose which helps financially to the students of IIHM who wants to become entrepreneurs.
College Events
Our college hosts many inter-college competitions like Young Chef India, Young Chef India junior, Young Chef Teachers, but one of the most famous event hosted by the college is Young Chef Olympiad (YCO) where 60 students from 60 different countries land in India and compete each other with their skills in cooking and the event is judged by many celebrity chefs including chefs holding a Michelin star. The college has many clubs for the students like decor club, literary club, culinary club etc. The college gives the students the opportunity to organise a full event by managing it themselves.
Campus Life
We have 3 building located in Indiranagar, Bangalore. Sports facilities in campus are not available where as students are given an opportunity to compete with other colleges, Wi-Fi is available for the faculties, all the equipments are available in the college.
