After the cut off list was out n i was fit to apply, i wrote a journalism test which had basic news, gk and english questions, i sat in a personal interview with their professor panel and got through after i cracked both. I dont remember my score bt it was a pretty good score. Also the interview is a make or break. So basically scoring in your written test doesnt matter if u fail to impress in ur personal interview.
Course Curriculum Overview
Our course BA Journalism (Hons) had a very impressive curriculum right from documentary film making, to writing news articles to social sciences, the environment studies, political science basically covering all aspects of knowledge areas and evrything that will make for a complete journalist. The faculty was well acquainted with the subjects, not only did they add to the theoretical approach to varied subjects bt also their experiences accounted for a thorough practical, on the job kind of knowledge.
Internships Opportunities
I did my internship at CNN IBN bt the college played no role in providing any internships. There wasnt any internship or placement policy atleast back then.I was not offered a stipend as the internship could only last a month with all the exams and assisngments for college took mist of the time and also the college gave only a months free time for internship.
Placement Experience
Their were no campus placements by my college. We had to look out for hobs and internships on our own. The teachers may have given some references to few but mostly its a DIY situation.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fees for Journalism Hons was by far the most expensive out of all subjects in DU. If the other subjects were paying an annual fee of 5-6k, journalism students were paying an annual fee of 11k.
Fees and Financial Aid
Not that i know of or availed. Loans and scholarships also were not very easily discussed or popularly known then!
Campus Life
So it was an all girls college so the gender ratio point is nullified here. The sports team was popular but apart from that the extra curricular societies like dance, theatre, fashion etc were a huge part of KNC! The fashion society and dance society was the most popular from our college amongst all of DU. The western music and classical music societies were very active and won accolades evrywhere they went. Most of our cultural societies took part in all DU competitions and won most places.
