My 4 years Experience Review of GBPEC

The college offers 8 different courses ie Computer science, Computer science specialized in AI and ML, Electrical engineering, Electronic and communication engineering, Civil engineering, Mechanical engineering, Production engineering, and Biotechnology. Except for Biotechnology in all the other branches college admits students based on their JEE rank so students have to appear in the Joint entrance exam(JEE). After getting your JEE result student have to apply in counseling through the Uk tech counseling website ie uktech.ac.in fees of the counseling is around 2k and usually, the counseling starts in the month of September and the total rounds are three. After all the rounds college also conducts internal counseling for the seats vacant after uktech counseling and the fees are the same as 2k and the total no of rounds are 2 to 3. Reservation facility is also there for SC/ST/OBC/TWF/EWS/AF/W/PH/KM students.

I am from the Computer science department so I will be telling more about my department and some about another department too. So course curriculum is the same as studied by other colleges as the course is provided by AICTE, mostly students try to opt for CS. In the 1st semester you will be learning subjects like physics, engineering maths-I, English, basic electrical engineering than in 2nd semester you will study Chemistry, maths-II, C language, EVS then from 3rd semester your CS subjects will start. Talking about the faculty so in CS all faculty members are good few are very good like they will Clear all your doubts if you have any and some will only focus on completing the syllabus but mostly all faculty are from IIT's. Now talking about the exams so a sem is of 6months so after one month when one or two units are completed you have to give a CT of 15marks there are a total of 2 CT and CT 3 is for those if someone didn't appear in CT 1 or 2. The level of CT is med then at sem end sem exam will be there.

The college only provides internships mostly in BSNL which is in the 2nd year and also a 15days industrial training in the 3rd year in Goa and in other parts of South India and students don't have to pay anything except their travel expenses. You can also go for off-campus internship programs as again the opportunities are many. In total, a student has to complete around 3internship and every year he has to submit the internship certificate to his respective department and in the 7th semester, one subject will be there in which you have to make a PPT and tell about all the internships you have done along with the certificates.

So the placement for CS department is good around 45-50 students out of 65 gets placed every year some go for higher studies also. Now talking about the placement so the companies in which students get placed are TCS, Wipro, daffodils, MTX group, HCL, Grifeo technology, Rubico IT, Infosys, Apisero, Xenonstack, Mthreewiley, Accenture, Cognizant, etc then the minimum package is 2L and maximum is 8L. You can also go for off-campus placement as the opportunity as many. Placement will start in the 7th semester and your WhatsApp groups will be created and all the information will be conveyed through this only. Students have to prepare on their own as the placement cell doesn't help students in their preparation. Most students are placed are from CS branch only around 10-15 student are there from other branches.

So fee structure is minimum as it's a government college. Let me just tell you about fees from 1st semester to 8th semester which I have paid. Note that no hike is done from the year 2018. College Fees: 1st semester- 37980 2nd semester- 31035 3rd semester- 32280 4th semester- 31035 5th semester- 32280 6th semester- 31035 7th semester- 32280 8th semester- 31035 Hostel and mess fees are around 16480 per semester Now talking about the scholarship there are total 3 scholarship schemes 1. Government provides scholarships to SC/ST/OBC/Gen students but only those who are eligible. Eligibility is for SC, ST parents annual family income should be less than 2.5L for OBC annual income should be less than 1.5L and for general its 1L and you should have a valid income certificate and some other documents too. The scholarship amount for SC ST is around 55500 for OBC it's 53500. 2. Scholarship for Girl student eligibility is annual income less than 8l scholarship amount 50k. 3. Scholarship for top 5students amount 5k.

Campus Life is normal nothing to enjoy much but the college conducts some events on a timely basis along with some clubs to participate in. There are a total of 3 fests namely Goonj the annual fest held in the month of April, Spandan held before Goonj, and the 3rd Sports fest ie Josh. Duration of all these fests is around 3-4days in this time if you're from 2nd,3rd or final year you will surely enjoy Now talking about some clubs there are not many clubs some of the famous clubs are Third button studios(Photography club), Abhivyakti (Drama club), etc. So college Library is huge it has lots of books but it needed some new books to be added The classrooms are big and have decent facilities but all are under CCTV surveillance. For sports, there are total 2grounds mainly for cricket, football, volleyball, kabbadi, etc and one badminton court and table tennis complex and no basketball court but in the final year girls hostel, there is one small basketball court.

So every year we are provided with rooms in different hostels in the first year in one room 4students will live than in 2nd year 3 will live than in 3rd year again 3 will live but in the final year every boy has his own personal room Now talking about the room facilities you will be getting a cot an almirah one LED bulb one study table and one Plastic chair. Now coming to the Mess food so it different for Every year as every year hostel is different so in the first year you will be getting some items in a limited manner like Gulab jamun only 1peice but items like rice chapati are the unlimited quality of food in the first year is average. Now in 2nd year, you will get some more food as your per day plate costs increase so, for example, you will get 2Gulab jamuns now and quality of food is again average. Now in 3rd year as the hostel again changes so 3rd-year mess is good food is nearly unlimited and quality is above average. In the final year quantity is unlimited and quality is again above average.
