Remarks
As I wanted to apply for B.A. (Hons) English at Delhi University, my admission process was merit based. First I had to fill out the application form for registration and then I had to fill out all the courses I have in my mind as an option to continue further. After that, I had to wait for the cut offs and then I applied to one of my favourite colleges when I was able to meet their desired cut off. The only improvement that I would like to see in this process is the increase of efficiency during the admission process.
Course Curriculum Overview
I always wanted to study literature and this is the reason why I chose to pursue Eng Hons. after school. Kirori Mal's faculty of English is one of the most famous and popular faculties of Delhi University. I have even seen students from other colleges attending lectures of our professors. The professors are well qualified and educated and their teaching method is very efficient. The exams usually happen according to the timetable but due to covid, there were fluctuations. The exams are moderate level.
Internships Opportunities
There are many internships available depending on different courses. As I am an English Hons student, I usually opted for Internships that were based on content writing. There were also other opportunities such as anchoring, illustrating, book recommendations etc. I used to mainly earn 500 per article depending on the length and quality of my work. I used to briefly write about a particular topic provided by the client
Placement Experience
The students become eligible when they reach their last year of graduation for campus placements. I haven't applied for any placements but I do know that more than 60% of students who applied were able to secure a placement. I also know that companies like Deloitte, Infosys, ScoopWhoop are the companies that have visited for placements. My plan after getting a degree is to pursue my masters.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure is based on quota and different categories such as general, obc, st, etc. There has been a hike in fees over the years but it wasn't very high. Overall, the fees in all Delhi University colleges are quite affordable. I didn't get a scholarship but I did get an internship based on content writing and the stipend was 500 per article.
Campus Life
If you get into Kirori Mal College, you are indeed going to have a great experience and the best time of your life. The ambience may not be very large as it's a government college but you are definitely going to enjoy the vibe. There is a library where you can also read books and work on computers. All the classrooms are well furnished and ventilated. There are also two separate common rooms for girls and boys. There are also two large fields for sport and other extracurricular activities. Also, there is a gym available as well. The society and society fests of the college are worth attending and the homely environment will completely help you in developing your personality
