Remarks
For those who are unable to crack IITs and NITs, IIIT Kottayam is a very good option why I am saying that because I was also not able to meet the cutoff eligibility criteria of IIT and I was allotted the IIIT Kottayam seat during my JOSAA counseling and after entering the college I realise that the college faculty is very good and the curriculum of the CSE program is also excellent. Many upcoming engineers can consider IIIT Kottayam as a very good option.
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum of the college is very good and excellent. I must say that the curriculum of the CSE program is modern and up to the point all the important details and methods are covered from the grass-root level to the advanced level. Every concept is properly cleared and made understood by the faculty. The faculty is also very qualified and they are really master in their respective subjects. The faculty is so good that they even give us some tips and tricks to remember the coding technique. The faculty is of Ph.D. level and all of them have good research experience.
Internships Opportunities
The internship is optional but I personally suggest that you must complete the internship program as it gives us a good opportunity to learn about the corporate environment and gives us an opportunity to demonstrate our skills and knowledge. The placement committee helps us to find the company for the internship.
Placement Experience
The college has a good placement policy and the standards of the college regarding the placement are very good. The placement committee is very dedicated and they really play an important role during the placement. As the placement committee fully supports us and they are successful in inviting a good number of companies and market leaders for placement drive. The highest package for our batch was around 22 LPA and the average package was approx 15 LPA. Even during the time of the pandemic, the packages were really good and if there won't be any Covid situation the packages would be much better.
Fees and Financial Aid
The complete course fee of the B.Tech program is approx 8 lakh but the placement of the college is good as a comparison to the fee the return on investment is really very good. State and central government scholarships are also available. Education loan facility is also available and the admission staff is very cooperative. Campus Life
DHRUVA is the college annual fest but the college also organizes many small fests regularly. The college is totally surrounded by greenery due to which there is a vibe of freshens around the campus. The college library is filled with many national and international books. The college classrooms are very good and spacious. The college provides good facilities like Gym, a big Auditorium, Open Air Auditorium, on-campus ATM, Football and cricket ground.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel is good and the infrastructure is very well maintained and the rooms are properly cleaned and properly ventilated. The hostel wardens and the staff really work very hard to maintain the hostel decorum. The hostel mess food quality is good and the food is cooked in a very hygienic environment. The hostel also provides us with 24 hours of water and power supply. Every room has LAN connectivity for the internet. The hostel has all kinds of basic and modern facilities for us.
