IMU CET. I appeared in this entrance exam and got a good rank. This college has got a good reputation all over the world. The Institute trains the cadets to become best seafarers in the industry by providing regimented residential training which includes various extra-curricular activities comprising of indoor and outdoor games, aquatics and cultural activities. The institute has been the most prominent in providing well-trained and skillful marine engineers for the global shipping.

There are many scholarships which can be availed. Presently shipping corporation of india is providing scholarships to the students who are SC/ST and OBC. There is not a problem about loan facility. Presently state bank of india is providing full course loan.

The alumni network is good. They are very helpful to the students. If you have any queries related to courses,placements,etc you can always contact your seniors.

The faculties are great. They are quite devoted towards students. Some faculties are former sailors,some are outside faculties.

I don't have idea about the placements since I'm in first year now. But I talked to a senior and got to know that many got multiple offers in 4th year. I also head that packages are around 4 lpa which is a decent and also a rise than the previous year.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.

Good for placements, excellent hostel life and good to learn, apply and fun. A college for all round development.

I have searched for many other colleges but i chose this because it is the oldest marine engineering college and has a benchmark legacy, and this college has shaped the merchant navy of the nation. It has been known for producing the finest marine engineers. I preffered marine engineering over other courses because this is a type of training that ensures your wholesome development.
