Remarks

Eligibility for BA(H) Economics in Miranda house depends upon the cutoff college releases at the time of admission, moreover, the student has to study mathematics in class 12th to be eligible for this course. Any student who meets the requirement of the cut-off can go for further process of admission. The application form is released on the official DU website where a person has to register first and after that wait for the cutoff to be released. Application dates and fees are provided on the website itself. So one is required to check it for updates. However from. now onwards CUCET( Central University common entrance test) will be conducted to take admission rather than a cutoff system which gives admission on basis of class 12 marks. Now, students have to appear for the entrance test whose information will be released by Delhi University on the website itself (du.org). Reservation is provided for sports quota, academic excellence, obc, sc/st.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course curriculum is designed by Delhi university itself. College does not have a particular curriculum. It follows University guidelines. This course is great for those interested in economics and are looking forward to various government as well as corporate world jobs. FACULTY: STUDENTS ratio is nominal i.e 1:50. Teachers are qualified enough to make students understand the concepts well. The teaching method adopted in an online platform can grasp students' attention. Teachers also try to engage the students in class. Term exams and datasheet is released common for all DU affiliated colleges. And are mostly timely though corona years have disturbed the Academic Calendar. Mostly June and December are months of semester exams. Exams are not difficult to pass.

Internships Opportunities

4

The career cell of various departments/courses + placement cell brings a whole flood of internship opportunities for students starting from the first year itself. Various social marketing internships, content writing, social media management, teaching, and various internship with other profiles are brought every day. Projects depend upon the type of internship you choose. In social marketing, projects provided include sales, content writing data analysis along with tracking of events and record-keeping is included. Thus the project depends on the type of internship.

Placement Experience

4

The placement of the college is good. Placement cell actively brings opportunities as well as conducts sessions about how to crack company interviews. Last semester students are eligible to sit for placement drive. The average package is 6-7 lakh while the highest package may go to 12-15 lakh per annum. There may be an exception as well. All the students didn't get placement, only the ones able to get through the placement process have benefits. The placement cell tries to bring as bigger opportunities as possible.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees of college and course are just 14600, much lower than any private college fees, scholarships are timely provided to the needy students. Also, the college provides scholarships and financial assistance for students and releases notifications for the same. There are Central University scholarships as well as FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE PROVISION, released every year by the college for students of every semester. Placement cell actively works for providing jobs every year to the aspiring students of the college. Various big companies also come for jobs offer.

Campus Life

4.5

TEMPEST is a very famous Annual fest at MIRANDA house. Every year big personalities perform in the event. In online mode too, celebrities were invited for performance online on college YouTube channels. Various departments have their separate fest as well. Like eco department has ZENITH. Library provides all basic books required by students. They can issue any book for 15 days from the library. Classrooms also have basic amenities required. They have nice furniture and fans. The college has a big sports ground for the students and various lawns for sports purposes. The college stands out for the extracurricular activities that it provides to the students. There are many clubs and social organizations active like MUN club Suvakta, the most recent financial and investment club, TEDX Miranda house, Aditya the fine art society, career cell, department clubs, SPIC MACAY, and many more. Much Nonprofit organization is also at work.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

The hostel provides all the facilities like laundry, almirah, study table, drinking water, a common area of tv, open gym as. The meal is of average quality though. But not too bad ( cannot be considered fully good too). The hostel has a grand mess that can accommodate 200 hostelers easily. Hostel registration is open after taking admission in college after the cut-off process. Only meritorious students are given seats. The higher the percentage, the greater the chances of getting a hostel. But the hostel is not provided for Delhi people or people from NCR. The hostel is affordable as compared to PG in Delhi. It provides all facilities without any hole in the pocket. The fee is nearly 30-50000 per year

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

I got a seat in Ramjas College. It is a north-campus college. The infrastructure is too good compared to the remaining colleges. The teaching also going well but I faced some language problems. I'm from south India so I don't understand Hindi properly. But here mostly they teach in Hindi only and English is used very rarely.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself is prestigious and is mostly opted for by people who plan either on preparing for the Civil Services or those who want to pursue academia. The course structure is framed in a manner that you don't just simply study history there, but you ingrain a critical viewpoint of a young historian. The faculty of History Hons. has some of the best Professors in the University, although you will in any course at any college find some teachers below your expectations, you don't have to bear them for more than 1 or 2 semesters. Passing the exams is not very difficult, but yes scoring above average is. If you get a GPA ranging from 6 to 7, you've performed fine. Above that is considered a Very good performance in Hons. courses of Social sciences at Delhi University. there are semester exams every 5- 6 months
