So, you have to clear an entrance test to qualify for this college. You can apply online as well as offline you can visit UBTER website and see's the complete process there. The exam is mostly 10th standard which includes PCM and general aptitude. Eligibility is 10th pass. There is a reservation but i didn't know what's the criteria of reservation. The admission process is good but the websites does not tells you about all the documents you should carry like medical certificate is must.
Course Curriculum Overview
talking about the qualifications of teachers there is no doubt that teachers are highly qualified here, most of them are done there graduation from IIT, ROORKEE and others are well qualified engineer's and severals of them done there Phd in there respective subject but the problem is their teaching method, there is almost zero interaction with students and mostly lectures are stuck to books. I choose Civil engineering due to my interest buildings, rivers, dams etc and also looking for government job opportunities. student ratio is uneven to the no. Of faculty i mean there is a one teacher for almost 80 students. There are around 600-700 students in my college. There are only semester exams no sessional's .
Internships Opportunities
In diploma college there is hardly any internship program run by authority, companies also not interested in diploma students. Before 2012 -13 companies visit college but now it is almost extinct, however you yourself can work for company like an intern for this you need permission from that company and affidavit from college. There are no project related work however there is a workshop where you learn new things and understand mechanics of machines.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure is pocket friendly. There is only 14040/year without hostel fee and for hostel it is around 5000-6000/year. There is no hidden charges. There is a scholarship for students who belongs to SC/ST/OBC or handicapped but that's a very complicated process . There is no industry exposure no placements.
Campus Life
Campus life not so good i never heard that someone is happy with the campus life in college There is a decent library in college but it has old books which are now not related to subhects. There is an annual fest organize by UBTER in which all other colleges also participate in games, skit, drama , a social message and many more that's the only best thing about this college. Sports fest is also held every year it's an inter-college program, here all type of sports equipment are available in college. There is no social group run by students.
