Remarks

The admission process was very simple and in streamlined manner. There was no entrance exam as My college is under Delhi University, which provides admission on the basis of Cutoff. The application process demanded various details and on the basis of it approved the application for admission. Then Delhi University released its cutoff(consisting of minimum marks required for each course and college), which was made available on their official website and students eligible applied for the course and college they were interested in. I had the benefit of belonging to the OBC category as Cutoff for General and OBC had a difference of .5 and that's a huge number when counted in 95+. The admission for me was quite convenient but as there's always scope for improvement so keep hustling for now I don't have any suggestions as such.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The course curriculum is also very decently managed but it has rigidity in opting for courses from different streams which would by itself get changes with implementation of NEP. Also, the education system in itself needs a reform with less importance to rote learning as with ICT revolution in hands of almost everyone, the traditional notion of parameter of judging people's intellect on basis of remembering something which might never help someone is counterproductive. According to the requisites of questions I opted for this course because I am a UPSC aspirant and this course in my opinion will help me in this Exam. Student teacher ratio in my own class is very poor reaching a staggering 1:127. Teachers are well qualified but this doesn't automatically make them well equipped with the delivery of their own knowledge. They still rely on age old techniques of teaching. Exams were held timely with a gap of around 4-5 months in between Semester exams. Exams were indeed difficult in nature.

Internships Opportunities

3

With my background in Political Science, I believe I am not the best person to answer this question as there are many opportunities available for internships but few are for students of my course. The project includes internships for students mostly from commerce backgrounds.

Placement Experience

4.5

The placement cell of our college is very good considering the availability of job opportunities in the market. Students become eligible for college placement in 3rd year. The companies coming to our college are the same as various other colleges of DU. The highest package was around 1500000 and average package was 5.3 lakh. Around 60% of students get placed. My plans after getting a Degree are Appearing in Civil Services.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee Structure is annual in nature hovering around 12k for a year. I am not aware of any scholarship, if available and I believe that I won't get any because of my economic condition. The campus does have a placement cell that recruits students from Commerce and Science backgrounds but I haven't met anyone getting the job from my background ( Political Science). The cost to study in Delhi for outside students is not in form of collage fees but it's quite high in terms of accomodation. I myself got no kind of scholarship, financial assistance or any campus job, but I remember my sir volunteering for providing electronic devices to Students who need them but can't afford them.

Campus Life

4

Life at the campus is full of opportunities and fun for those who are avail of it. Social life is also decent as one can meet many people from diverse cultures and backgrounds and ideologies. I don't have much information regarding the college annual fest right now but it's most possibly in April this time. Books and journals are available from the library but frankly, I never issued them. Class is average in terms of infrastructure as it has all the basic things needed for education but it lacks modern facilities like a projector or flexibility in a hybrid model of education. There is a gap between what teachers perceive of students and what they really are. Our college is known for its cricket team and there is ample space available for sports and various opportunities available for extra curricular activities. Almost all of the clubs I know are run by students, namely Exordium.

The course curriculum is a bit too theoretical and less practical. The exams in the college takes places every month which are seasonals and are for internal marking and then we have semester exams in every 6 months which accounts for the external marking.

Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is really very interesting. It keeps up with our expectations. Involves both practical and theoretical aspects to make sure that we are able to face the real world. Also, with the help of the guidance that we get from teachers we're able to ace both the aspects. The examinations also are based on applications, thus, helping us to enhance ourselves in all possibilities.

I got a seat in Ramjas College. It is a north-campus college. The infrastructure is too good compared to the remaining colleges. The teaching also going well but I faced some language problems. I'm from south India so I don't understand Hindi properly. But here mostly they teach in Hindi only and English is used very rarely.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself is prestigious and is mostly opted for by people who plan either on preparing for the Civil Services or those who want to pursue academia. The course structure is framed in a manner that you don't just simply study history there, but you ingrain a critical viewpoint of a young historian. The faculty of History Hons. has some of the best Professors in the University, although you will in any course at any college find some teachers below your expectations, you don't have to bear them for more than 1 or 2 semesters. Passing the exams is not very difficult, but yes scoring above average is. If you get a GPA ranging from 6 to 7, you've performed fine. Above that is considered a Very good performance in Hons. courses of Social sciences at Delhi University. there are semester exams every 5- 6 months
