You can find application form details on the official website of IMU i.e. imu.edu.in You have to pay 1000 for the application form fee. Its dates and exam schedule publish on IMU's official site. So you need to check it regularly. Its application form date is often released in the month of April.
Course Curriculum Overview
I personally chose this course because of the nature of the job. For me, or anyone a job as seafarer looks amazing and so satisfying and dangerous as well. But nowadays there is various development in the field of the maritime sector. IMU Kolkata Campus falls under the best campus for B.Tech(ME). It has almost faculty: student ratio of about 1:20. All facilities are well qualified and also have been on board for a decent course of time. Every six months semester exam happens and 2 internal within each semester. But let me tell you one thing this campus conducts one of the toughest semester exams among other Marine colleges.
Internships Opportunities
The college itself provides internship opportunities. And In India also, there are several shipping companies which provide internships to meritorious students. But you can also go to any technical company for the internship.
Placement Experience
The placements are quite good. Average 70-80% of students get placed. And rest can go for off campus placement or higher studies. Almost 25-30 companies visit our campus every year. I'm a 1st-year student here, so my focus is to get the placement anyhow. Also, our pass-out seniors help in the placement. This campus has a unique culture for this.
Fees and Financial Aid
Its course fee is quite moderate for this course. But the campus will ensure that everyone will get equal opportunity. College also provides some scholarship and has tie-up with banks to provide education loan. Every year various shipping companies use to visit our campus and maximum students get placed.
Campus Life
Very neat and clean campus. It has Olympic size swimming pool for training. Recently a new library was inaugurated in the campus. Well-furnished classrooms with adequate facilities. Campus has grounds for every sports like cricket, hockey, badminton, basketball, etc. We also have an annual fest every year.
Hostel Facilities
This is a residential college. You can't opt to live outside the campus. Hostels are new. Different hostels for different year students and also different hostels for girls cadets too. Very nice place to live and study. Every week it is cleaned properly nad maintained by the cadets(students) itself. Mess is also good. Separate mess for each year students. Best thing is here's mess menu. You will love once you'll be here.
