Remarks

The year of my admission was 2019. The process for admission was merit based back then. I made it in the first cutoff with 90.5% (the best 4 considered by DU). The admission process now from this year onwards would differ because of CUCET. So now students do not have to struggle for merits and cut offs. Eligibility for the course in 12th with any stream with a recognised board in the country. As I, myself was a commerce stream in senior secondary CBSE.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The environment is pretty good and the college itself is located in a serene area in Janakpuri. The faculty is well developed and the departments are nicely organised. The college provides practical learning in approximately all the streams. The college offers approximately 25 courses from 7 streams and also provides internship and placement opportunities. It has its own placement cells in the college that invites recruiters like Economic times, Techno Tech, University Clothing, Decathlon etc. The initial average packages are 4-5 LPA.

Placement Experience

3.5

Campus placements are made available from the 6th semester onwards with an initial average package of 4-5 lacs per annum. The main recruiters are Economic Times, Techno Tech, University Clothing, Decathlon etc. Prior to 6th semester various internship opportunities are provided with different departments. Approximately 50% of the students get into jobs through college placements.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure is affordable as in the first place it is a Central University i.e. a Govt. University. Students can also make it through scholarships into the college as it provides financial assistance to those who face difficulty affording. One can take admission through sports quota as well. The college ranks 44 in the commerce stream and 60 in the Arts.

Campus Life

4

Social life includes various Department Fests that are evergreen for the whole year and an Annual College Fest in the Feb-March period. It has well equipped library, labs, lawns, field, Auditorium, Canteen, and classrooms that are overall good. For hanging out, it has the nearest Janak Place, DC (approx 3-4 km away). The college is adjacent to Maharaja Surajmal Institute Of Technology. So the other place to hang out in between the lectures is Surajmal Lane. The college is connected to 2 nearest Metro Stations i.e. Janakpuri West and Dabri Mod.

The course curriculum is a bit too theoretical and less practical. The exams in the college takes places every month which are seasonals and are for internal marking and then we have semester exams in every 6 months which accounts for the external marking.

Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is really very interesting. It keeps up with our expectations. Involves both practical and theoretical aspects to make sure that we are able to face the real world. Also, with the help of the guidance that we get from teachers we're able to ace both the aspects. The examinations also are based on applications, thus, helping us to enhance ourselves in all possibilities.

I got a seat in Ramjas College. It is a north-campus college. The infrastructure is too good compared to the remaining colleges. The teaching also going well but I faced some language problems. I'm from south India so I don't understand Hindi properly. But here mostly they teach in Hindi only and English is used very rarely.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself is prestigious and is mostly opted for by people who plan either on preparing for the Civil Services or those who want to pursue academia. The course structure is framed in a manner that you don't just simply study history there, but you ingrain a critical viewpoint of a young historian. The faculty of History Hons. has some of the best Professors in the University, although you will in any course at any college find some teachers below your expectations, you don't have to bear them for more than 1 or 2 semesters. Passing the exams is not very difficult, but yes scoring above average is. If you get a GPA ranging from 6 to 7, you've performed fine. Above that is considered a Very good performance in Hons. courses of Social sciences at Delhi University. there are semester exams every 5- 6 months
