Remarks
I had a pretty good campus life. Now as I think of it, one of the best things was food. But all the other facilities I mentioned above did over compensate this one.
Entrance Preview
IIT JEE I could get CSE in this college and that's what gets me hooked. This college has one of the biggest campuses in India having all the facilities you can think of.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum was a little hectic a per my expectations. In the first year, we had just one course from my department and all the other courses were from different departments like mechanical, electrical, etc.
Internships Opportunities
The college internship experience was pretty awesome. I get paid a stipend of 15k. My Internship was in Delhi, so I stayed at IIT Delhi. I had a nice experience overall.
Placement Experience
For CSE, this campus has ample placements and job opportunities. All of the students got placed within the first 10 days. But unfortunately, the same could not be said for other branches like civil, mechanical etc for whom placement season was not that great.
College Events
My college held Thomso as the cultural event of IIT Roorkee. The total participation number gets close to 50 thousand. For a tech events, we have cognizance. The total participation in this event is more than 100k every year.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure was pretty feasible. The fee for one semester was around 50k which includes the hostel fees also. As compared to other colleges this is like a penny. I have heard from my cousins who are giving up to a 200k each semester and that too with so few facilities available.
Fees and Financial Aid
There is one MCM scholarship in my college which used to give a scholarship of up to 80% to the poor students if they maintained a minimum grade. Also, loan facilities were provided by major banks like SBI and PNB.
Campus Life
This campus boasts of the best campus life in India, and it does live up to the expectations. Be it cultural clubs, sports complex,es or Olympic size swimming pool. I must say that you can not expect more than this.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel facilities were pretty good at my college. The rooms were clean, nice and all the hostels had big lawns. However the same could not be said about the mess food. The only good thing about the mess food is that it has prepared you for all the bad food you
Alumni/Alumna
IIT Roorkee has one of the strongest alumni networks throughout the world. You frequently get to know about the alumni achievements through the campus news and they also facilitate to connect with them.
Exam Structure
From the lab side, my campus is pretty chilled out. We had one to two labs each week. We had two midterms exams and then final term exams in one semester. The exam schedule was pretty hectic compared to other colleges.
Faculty
I would have to say that faculty was pretty average. My Department was clubbed with the Electronics department and because of that, we had to take a lot of electronics courses throughout the 4 years.
