Campus Life, placements, everything - IIT Guwahati have them all

In order to get admission into IITs, one needs to clear two exams namely JEE MAIN and JEE ADVANCED. One who clears JEE ADVANCED can apply for seats in IITs. The application form is available at jeeadv.ac.in. The application fee is around 3000. The cutoff for IITG CSE was around AIR 500.

The course curriculum here at IIT Guwahati or any old IIT is truly fascinating. You get to be taught by the best professors across the world. And CSE at any of the old IITs is a very big thing in itself and can fetch you hefty packages. The faculty to student ratio is roughly 1:10. The exams occur once a month be it quizzes and then, in the end, there is a mid-semester exam or End semester exam. The exams are honestly very difficult to pass.

The internship season begins at the end of the fourth semester every year. Around 25 per cent of students get the internship and it majorly depends on their branch. There are various companies which visit our college every year (more than 50 companies). Some of the top companies are Google, Microsoft, Amazon, IBM, Deloitte, Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan and Chase, Cisco, Sprinklr, etc. Around 250 students get the on-campus internship. There are various roles in which one can do an internship, some of them are:- Software Development Engineering, Data Science, Data Analytics, finance, etc

After the completion of the sixth semester, one becomes eligible for campus placements. More than 50 companies visit and around 1000 offers are made. The highest package was around 2.20 crores while the lowest was 12 lakhs the average being 22 lakhs. Around 89 per cent of the student were placed.

If one is not eligible for any scholarship, one needs to pay 149000 per semester. However, there are plenty of scholarships and fellowships which can be availed. So, the fee is overall affordable as per the economic status of the student. The institute offers a scholarship called MCM Scholarship which waives 100000 per semester as on the economic status of the student.

IIT Guwahati is one of the most scenic and beautiful IITs. Its campus is the epitome of nature's tranquillity. it's very very peaceful inside the campus… the campus size is more than 800 acres. You gotta experience that once yourself. The campus comprises 6 lakes and 2 hills of which both the hills and 2 lakes are natural. The campus is the epitome of natural beauty and is the most beautiful campus in the country. The finest library in this part of the country. Top-notch infrastructure and a sizeable collection of books make it worth a visit. IITs have everything that one wants. Any facility you name and they have it. Any sport you name, they have it. IIT Guwahati has over-all around 40 clubs which are the Fine arts Club, ECell, Consulting and Analytics Club, Coding Club, Electronics Club, Aeromodelling Club, Finance and Economics Club, etc.

I am a resident of Siang Hostel. The Hostel is equipped with a Juice Center, Hostel Library, Canteen, Hostel Gym, multipurpose room, sports room, Music room, etc. The Room is spacious and contains a LAN port, A bed , an almirah, a compartment, a table and a chair. The hostels are extremely affordable.
