SVC - the college info

The admission process is centralized by the University of Delhi so there can't be any improvements from the college side. For Economics Hons. one needs to have maths in their 11th and 12th standard. The application form is out on the University of Delhi website and any other info regarding application dates and form fess information will be provided there itself. There are reservations for ST, SC, OBC, PWD, Kashmiri Students, ect and the list of that is also out on University of Delhi official website. The admission process is quiet slow if you have applied through any quota Or reservation.

I choose this course as this is one of the most popular and difficult course of Delhi University but Economics is also my area of intrest. So for every batch there is 1 teacher for the core subject throughout the semester but there are 2-3 teachers for the GE and AECC subjects. Almost all the core subject teachers have completed their PHD's and are well qualified. Teaching method is standard throughout the University. Term exams are on time as the University conducts it and it is pretty normal not too difficult.

There are many companies, NGO's visiting our college for internships and many students take those internships in the internship fair at college. There are different roles provided. The information about internships can be seen on the college website.

In third year the students are eligible for placements in college. There are many reputed companies visiting our college for placement like Delloite, D.E. Shaw, TATA, ect. The highest package for our course was of R.S.2300000. Around 35% of the students get placed every year. I plan to pursue my masters after the completion of my degree here.

The fees is very minimal. There isn't much hike in the fees. There are scholarships for students but those are very minimal too and getting that is difficult. There isn't any on campus jobs for students.

Nexus is the annual fest of our college and is conducted in the month of February. The library does have books which are pretty decent. There are projectors in the classroom. There are quite a lot sports in our college and there are coaches also. There are many societies and clubs runned by the students.
