JoSAA has successfully conducted all 6 rounds of counseling for admissions to the B.Tech program for the academic year 2021. IIT Guwahati has released the category-wise JEE Advanced 2021 cutoff scores with opening and closing ranks for all 6 rounds of JoSAA counseling. IIT Guwahati sets the highest cutoff for its most popular program B. Tech Computer Science and Engineering at 439 (OP) and closes at 600 in round-6 for the general category candidates.

IIT Guwahati has 11 boys' hostels namely, Barak, Brahmaputra, Dibang, Dihing, Disang, Kapili, Kameng, Lohit, Manas, Siang, Umiam, and 2 girls' hostels namely Subansiri and Dhansiri, and a Married Scholar's hostel, to accommodate a large number of students coming over from different corners of the nation and abroad.
