Remarks

There aren't many bad remarks to make, to be honest. Sure, there may be better colleges out there, but personally I enjoyed my time in Jai hind. The overall college management was splendid. There were punes and staff who helped maintain cleanliness and decipline as well.

Entrance Preview

It was my college so the entrance examination would be the 12th board exams? I scored 90% and I opted for JaiHind college because of crowd and the extra curricular activities.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course curriculum follows the syllabus perfectly. They do have extra curricular activities involving Android courses which teach you how to create apps and also have many internships along the way. The course curriculum is taught well and the reference books are available readily in the library as well. It is a good curriculum covering all the necessary topics as per university.

Internships Opportunities

There were a total of 5 companies that came to the college for internship. They were Infosys, Deloit, Capgemini, TCS and LnT. The average stipend offered was around 2.4 lakhs per annum, except for deloit which gave a higher figure of 3.5 lakhs per annum.

Placement Experience

4

The placements were very good. There were a total of 5 companies that came, as before mentioned. They were capgemini, TCS, Infosys, LnT and Deloit. Most companies offered 2.4 lakhs per annum as salary. Infosys was a bit lower with 2.0 and Deloit was higher with 3.5. Nobody placed in Deloit from our batch. 4 people qualified for Infosys. 3 for LnT. 5 for TCS and 4 for capgemini. (My batch had 10 students total)

College Events

5

There are many events celebrated in my college. It was one of the reasons I joined. There are many big events such as Taalash, Shoutt, cyberstrike etc. Even though all of them don't come to mind immediately, there were a lot for sure. Most of them were open to all colleges and many people came in and participated as well. They were always a big hit.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure was very much feasible. The total cost came to a figure of 22000 for a year + a 1000 rupees for wifi fees. The fees were also divided among the gymkhana (a gym + recreation area), lab facilities etc. It was definitely affordable and had no complaints.

Fees and Financial Aid

There are no loans available. There are some scholarships offered but they aren't held by the college

Campus Life

3

The gender ratio is fairly average. In my own batch there were 4 girls and 6 boys. We held a lot of parties, especially for children's day and teachers day and also when somebody had a birthday. There were a lot of workshops conducted, such as Android app development, arduino in physics, astronomy etc. Extracurricular events were plentiful. There were 2 major events called explore and phyzex where the students made projects and showed them off to students from other colleges. Tolerance was very much existent. There were also anti ragging clubs to prevent intolerant students from having their way.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

There are no hostels. The canteen food is delicious. There is a wide range of simple foods like idli vada.dosa and other breakfast items and also a lot of Chinese such as Frankie's, fried rice etc. There are also luxury items like chocolate fondue, Nutella sandwich and also maggi.

Alumni/Alumna

Seniors were very helpful. Infact they played a major part in our studies. They were approachable and infact 'warned' us of the kind of exams and teachers we may face in the future. They helped us a lot in terms of problem solving and advice.

Exam Structure

There were frequent exams when the internals and semesters approached, but otherwise it was chilled out. They wouldn't leave you with a hectic day as long as you studied for them. The exams held were all accurate and moderately tough. Labs were well maintained and practical exams were held in them as well. They have decent machines but could be better.

Admission

After receiving my board marks, I opted for various colleges over the internet from the website of the university. I applied for various colleges such as jai hind, mithibai etc. After I received confirmation of admission in jai hind, I went to the college and checked the merit list to see which block I got admission in. Then I went to college with the necessary forms (leaving certificate, mark sheets of 10th and 12th etc) and took admission. It was a smooth process overall.

Faculty

4.5

The faculty are all kind and approachable. They are also well informed in their field and are also skilled at teaching the same. Some teachers are a little bit strict (I can't point out names) but definitely everyone has been extremely supportive and helpful throughout the course and taught their courses well.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose Biotechnology because it is a multidisciplinary field. We get to study not only topics related to biotechnology but also biochemistry, bio physics, bio informatics, bio statistics, etc. Mostly everything that is essential for future exams is taught during the span of 3 years. The topics of the units are taught in depth but the questions asked during exams are comparatively easy as to what all we studied. The frequency of the exam is, 1 internal exam which consists of both mcqs and written exam, the semester exam for each semester and practical exams for each subject. If u have studied then you will be able to attempt the questions.

Placement Experience:

My college gives campus placement placement opportunities typically after 4th semester, which is the 2nd half of the 2nd year. As my college has a partnership with IBM so the standards of campus placement go right up as the placement depends on the curriculum performance of the student so can't really say much for this. If saying as a stalemate, getting a placement is basically confirmed if the student maintains his/her CGPA of 6-7, which shows the consistent of the student in their field.
