Remarks
For entering the college, you have to qualify for JEE(ADV). The exam was held after JEE(mains) was conducted by IITs itself. Most the people get reservation benefits. Being in the EWS category, I only benefitted during college selection. No, the addmission process is very smooth.
Course Curriculum Overview
I was very much interested in mechanics and mechanical-related things. Faculty to student ratio is awesome. It's about 1 faculty/ student. All faculties are highly qualified. Most of them are having Phd degrees in the specified field. Exams are very regular On average, you have about 1 exam every 6 days, including end sems, mindsems and quizzes. The exams are of good level. Need to have good knowledge to pass them.
Internships Opportunities
All the top companies visit for internships and the highest stipend offered is 3 lac/month. Also, many students get internships from outside as well. Students have to carry out the tasks given to them by the companies.
Placement Experience
From the 7th semester, students are eligible for placements. All of the top companies Google, Microsoft, Facebook etc hire from the campus. The highest package is 2.05 cr (international) and 1.2 cr domestic. The average package is nearly 26 lacs and 90+(%) students get placed. Mainly I am planning for masters after completing my degree.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees hike is the most concerning thing I think IITS. It's getting almost equal to private colleges. Along with this, the cost of living is also very high. No, scholarship or stipend is given but the st/sc and students having parental income less than 500000 are given scholarships.
Campus Life
Alcheringa is the annual cultural fest generally held in the month of Jan or Feb. Also, Spardha ( Annual sports fest ) among the hostels is conducted. Manthan(annual cult fest among hostels) and spirit are conducted along with many mini-events. All the books related to every topic are present in the library. Classrooms are awesome with good infrastructure and are fully furnished. The sports culture is good. Yes, there are many clubs including tech, cultural, finance etc.
