Remarks

No entrance exam was taken, admission was done on the basis of merit but from now on new applicants have to give CUET to take admission in the respected DU colleges. Students who are from a commerce background or had economics as their side subject in 11-12th are eligible of B.A. (hons) Economics in Delhi University. Application form, fees and application dates are prone to changes and are present in the Delhi University site. Reservation benefit varies from 0.25 - 1% for obc and 2-3% for ST/SC.

I've had an interest in Economics and Kirori mal College, Delhi University is said to be one of the finest colleges for graduation in economics. There are about 140 students in the economics department divided into 2 sections. Teaching staffs are highly qualified and use the common chalkboard method for teaching. Term exams at Delhi University are tough and usually based on the understanding of the subject rather than bookish knowledge.

Kirori mal College is one of the best colleges on the North Campus, Delhi University, and provides great opportunities for placement and internships. Multinational firms and renowned corporate giants such as KPMG, Deloitte, Bjus's, Oberoi hotel, PwC, etc recruited students in the recruitment drive done in the college.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure is affordable in comparison to other colleges. The annual fee in kirori mal College is about 12,245 but it can hike in the second/ third years by 1-2k or on the basis of the course selected. Financial assistance is provided in the form of a refund of fees.

Campus Life

The annual fest of Kirori mal College is Renaissance which happens during the months of January and February. There is a variety of books present in the library but it is not well maintained so a little maintenance of the library would be great. Classrooms are well provided with Acs/fans and good lighting but need maintenance. Some of the Instagram pages run by the students of the college are fapskmc, 180dckmc, kmc.fic, etc.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is a bit too theoretical and less practical. The exams in the college takes places every month which are seasonals and are for internal marking and then we have semester exams in every 6 months which accounts for the external marking.

The course i am engaged is BA HONOURS ENGLISH in DAULAT RAM COLLEGE, UNIVERSITY OF DELHI, the course offered is comprehensive, interesting and detailed. The faculty of English honours department is fully supportive of the students, the faculty members do not just give theory or bookish knowledge but also help us improve our communication in English language. We have studied many areas of literature within the course offered- ROMANTIC LITERATURE, EUROPEAN LITERATURE, INDIAN LITERATURE, AMERICAN LITERATURE, DALIT LITERATURE AND EVEN REGIONAL LITERATURE TRANSLATED IN ENGLISH. Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

I got a seat in Ramjas College. It is a north-campus college. The infrastructure is too good compared to the remaining colleges. The teaching also going well but I faced some language problems. I'm from south India so I don't understand Hindi properly. But here mostly they teach in Hindi only and English is used very rarely.

DCAC- a summary of college life

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself is prestigious and is mostly opted for by people who plan either on preparing for the Civil Services or those who want to pursue academia. The course structure is framed in a manner that you don't just simply study history there, but you ingrain a critical viewpoint of a young historian. The faculty of History Hons. has some of the best Professors in the University, although you will in any course at any college find some teachers below your expectations, you don't have to bear them for more than 1 or 2 semesters. Passing the exams is not very difficult, but yes scoring above average is. If you get a GPA ranging from 6 to 7, you've performed fine. Above that is considered a Very good performance in Hons. courses of Social sciences at Delhi University. there are semester exams every 5- 6 months

MY COLLEGE LIFE

Main exam was CUET. We should crack it with high marks... More than 98 percentile to get into the prestigious north campus of Delhi University. My college KMC comes under north campus and I'm really happy. I chose this college because it is one of the best for my course. It ranked 3rd in whole india for political science. I wanted it admission process is easy. After cuet results are published u have to fill csas portal. And you can see your rank and college allotted in the first round. The. Document verification. Afte that you will get gmail from the college and university. Cut off is almost 99 percentile in north campus. It's really difficult to get in. For humanities and commerce students choose DU.
